CNS News ^

(CNSNews.com) – As Iran ratcheted up its rhetoric Thursday about closing the Strait of Hormuz, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul revisited his earlier criticisms of Western policy towards Tehran, adding that Iran would be justified in cutting off the strategic waterway in response to sanctions.

At a campaign event in Iowa Thursday, Paul called Western sanctions imposed against Iran over its nuclear activities “horrendous” and “acts of war,”

The Straights are international waters. Closing them amounts to piracy on the high seas.

More than enough reason to bomb them back to the Bronze Age.

Most of the voters for RuPaul just want to smoke taxpayer-funded dope.

The rest are Democrats bussed in from other places.

Sort of make talk about stopping Irans progress seem meaningless.

Does Ron Paul ever take the side of the USA and it’s alias?

And in response to a clear act of war on the high seas, we’d clearly be justified in reopening the Strait. And taking the war to our enemy, should we choose. Or any other nation choose, for that matter.

So, if the Western allies decide not to trade with Iran any more due to its nuclear weapons program and its sponsorship of Jihadist terrorism, Ron Paul thinks such peaceful action would warrant Iran responding by using military force to cut off access to international sea lanes.

My question then is this: Is Ron Paul more like Jane Fonda or Lord Haw Haw?

Ron Paul 1488
The Final Solution for America

The two eights of the number 1488 stand for the eigth letter of the alphabet: H. And the two of them together form H H or Heil Hitler.

The fourteen part of the number 1488 stands for those fourteen words that every white supremacist knows: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for White children. (hat tip Bill Levinson)

The sanctions we just placed on them are similar to the sanctions placed on Japan prior to their attack in 1941.

It is reasonable to make the assumption that the results of these sanctions could be similar.

While Ron’s wording on this is very poor, the logic is not.

Cutting off Japan’s resources through the embargo = Attack on the US.
Cutting of flow of cash to Iran = ?

I am not a Paultard. I just think that this whole Iranian thing seems eerily like 1940 all over again.

I find that headline to be puzzling and problematic. I dislike Paul's foreign policy as much or more than most and have been as critical as any about it, but I do not find any statement by him in the article in which he says what the headline claims he said.

He did call the sanctions imposed against Iran over its nuclear activities “horrendous” and “acts of war, but I don't see where he said that "Iran would be justified in cutting off the strategic waterway in response to sanctions. "

I have searched the web for a direct quotation in which he said that or anything like it and all references I have found point back to this article.

I'm sorry, but Patrick Goodenough's claim is simply not "good enough." With out any direct quote, without any citation to prove what Paul said, this is no better than what the MSM does to conservatives everyday.

I don't like Ron Paul and the idea of him as Commander in Chief terrifies me, but I also do not like this sort of shoddy, pseudo-journalism.

I can believe that Ron Paul might believe this, but until I see it in his own words, this is just garbage from one less than reliable news source.

Personally I think the Mideast nations should step up instead of us relying on us in perpetuity. After all, its in their best interests, probably even more so than ours.

"the muzzies and terrorists already are nuclear power,"

1) so if one has it, it's ok that they all have it?

2) The Twelvers in Iran don't have it. Their theology teaches that bringing destruction and chaos will hasten the arrival of the Mahdi (the anti-Messiah)

Pakistan is a nuclear power and Taliban insurgents were within 60 miles of the capital and seizing control in 2009.

They had to back off because we were still a heavy presence in Iraq and Afghanistan and sent that degenerate Hillary Clinton over to tell the government to make pretend they were fighting back.

OBL was living in the Pakistani equivalent of West Point.

Pretty soon the charade will be over, and AlQueda will take direct control of all of the Pakistani nukes.

Iran is not going to do anything to challenge the US navy, its all propaganda.

I’m pretty sure there will be a 3rd party run. The former gov of NJ is headed up a fund raising effort on behave of some TBD candidate. I doubt Paul will run, he is running for the GOP nomination for the same reasons I thought Sara should. To bring issues into the campaign that no one else will. If Paul would just stick to spending and following the Constitution his numbers would go way up. Sara’s issue was crony capitalism and corruption in gov. I think Sara could have won, Paul not so much.

"I would like to see RP run as 3rd party. I think he would draw more votes away from Obama than the GOP."

You may be on to something. I never met a Paulie that said he voted for Bush or Dole or Bush 41.

They are mostly stay-at-homers when it comes to November elections, and darn proud of it. I would actually be more worried by a Trump run, though something of the same dynamic would be at work there.

Paul's support is mostly from unregistered negative non-voters whose favorite phrase is "there ain't a dime of difference between 'em."
