Killing blackbirds is a crime?
Killing blackbirds is a crime?
Particularly when they are enfolded in a pastry crust.
Then they become a dessert and cease to be a crime.
Interesting. Back in my childhood, the legislative branch made laws. And the administrative branch enforced them.
Sounds pretty dictatorial when you get police making laws.

I know this because I actually have pie recipes for small birds, recorded by Escoffier in his book. I refuse to say whether or not I have tried any of them. :)

Blackbirds just came through here in huge flocks. Waving from tree top to tree top. Quite a sight to see.
They have their place in nature. I don’t think killing one is a crime. But I do think, without some good reason, whoever did this is a bit sick.
What’s racist? Blackbirds baked in a pie???
Blackbirds baked in a pie are not racist, and desserts are not a crime, especially at 2 am in the morning.
What kind of small birds, may I ask?
blackbirds target of crime ping.
My only regret is that I can't figure out how to get hundreds of them at once without attracting attention and having to explain that I hate the things.
I wonder if this would work for grackles?
You obviously haven’t tasted my ex-girlfriend’s pastries.
Ah, beat me to it!

Blackbirds are federally protected by the United States under Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act. They may only be killed when they are found committing or about to commit depredations upon ornamental or shade trees, agricultural crops, livestock, or wildlife, or when concentrated in such numbers and manner as to constitute a health hazard or other nuisance, as stated in federal laws regarding migratory birds (50 CFR 21). Additional blackbird killing restrictions will vary per state.
