In November the Occupy Portland movement held a self-described "family friendly" event to rally support for their occupation of a downtown park. At the event, organizer Wade Varner, a man feted by the elite of Oregon's progressive political culture, dropped his pants and exposed himself at the site of a tea party member.

There is a series on Netflix, Portlandia, that may help understand liberal Portlandians. It is a hoot.

So did he expose himself or did he just shoot the moon? There’s a big difference in the two. I don’t really equate mooning with the other and hate writers who do,

"...dropped his pants and exposed himself at the site of a tea party member. "

Huh? Wha?

What 'site' was this at? The Tea Party member's house? Or was it at some other 'site'.

Meanwhile in Va. 3rd graders are singing this little ditty.

Some people have it all
But they still don’t think they have enough
They want more money
A faster ride
They’re not content
Never satisfied
Yes — they’re the 1 percent

I used to be one of the 1 percent
I worked all the time
Never saw my family
Couldn’t make life rhyme
Then the bubble burst
It really, really hurt
I lost my money
Lost my pride
Lost my home
Now I’m part of the 99

Some people have it all
But they still don’t think they have enough
They want more money
A faster ride
They’re not content
Never satisfied
Yes — they’re the 1 percent

I used to be sad, now I’m satisfied
’Cause I really have enough
Though I lost my yacht and plane
Didn’t need that extra stuff
Could have been much worse
You don’t need to be first
’Cause I’ve got my friends
Here by my side
Don’t need it all
I’m so happy to be part of the 99

The teachers claim the students came up with it all by themselves.

So now they're teaching kids how to be content in being poor
instead of setting goals and achieving them?

Listen kid, you're a nothing, a nobody, a worthless piece of dog pucky,
and no matter what you do you will be poor. You don't have a chance in life
because someone else took that away from you. You'll know them by the cars
they drive and the houses they live in.

Now go ask your mother to teach you about welfare.

Best wishes,
Your Uni-Teacher, Miss. Kravitz

Yeah I caught that too. So much for spreading the wealth around.

The term “family values” and “family friendly” have different meanings for different people. There is not much overlap in those terms as used by Mother Teresa and Wade Varner, for example.

I have often said we need to be spending much more time getting on school boards; city councils; etc.

The rot starts locally; and the libs have been doing this for decades.

The Presidential election is really just a reflection of the population.
If the population is all brainwashed leftists; then it doesn't matter much who is elected as President.

Unions are doing exactly that. We can never sleep.

I'd bet a coffee that the teachers wrote the lyrics then directed the kids
with several instructions that would emulate the predetermined end result.

Teachers are not smart people just because they teach. Fact is that
most teachers are too lazy to try anything else.

My cousin is a school administrator and she hates lazy teachers.
Wouldn't you know, she can't fire any of them.

Good link; thanks for sharing.

One thing I would like to see happen; is a structured way to get more conservatives in those offices. I had hoped the Tea Party would have more staying power; and get people into these long term, non sexy positions.

As you said; the unions have all kinds of time and resources to do this.
We are busy working.

We need to do better at getting people involved.
