Obama in Ohio to Challenge GOP on Economy

(WASHINGTON) — President Barack Obama is pushing his economic message in Ohio, brandishing his presidential megaphone in a politically important state to make certain his appeal to the middle class is heard amid the boisterous start of the Republican campaign for the White House.

Obama was traveling Wednesday to the most Democratic congressional district in Ohio, a Cleveland suburb, a day after Mitt Romney won Iowa's Republican presidential caucuses by just eight votes. Obama's trip signals the White House's intent to keep the president in the public eye even as the political world focuses on the GOP's selection process.

The White House's choice of Ohio for Obama's first presidential trip of 2012 underscores the state's high-profile role in presidential politics. It is a swing state that went for George W. Bush in 2004 and for Obama in 2008. A top manufacturing state, Ohio has seen its jobless rate follow the national pattern; unemployment was 8.5 percent in November compared with 9.6 percent a year before.

If the GOP had any gonads they’d follow up on his heels with a speech asking for his budget which he has delayed submitting since he was elected. They would out Alinsky the Alinskyite with his own tactics.

But they’re wusses or ‘too nice’ or too scared or guilty of so many crimes the Media hasn’t uncovered yet that they’re quaking in their boots. Or all of the above.

The GOP is spineless pond scum right now.

The only way the kenyan can “challenge” the GOP is to go at it alone with his teleprompters. With no one to answer to and no one to ask any real questions...he wins.

Obama will have a time selling this in Ohio right now, as Gov Kasich has been recruiting serious numbers of new jobs for the state.

As usual, obama is speaking to a high school audience in a mostly black, heavily 'rat section of town, guaranteeing that for this speech at least he won't have to worry about anyone in the audience actually thinking about what they are hearing.

That is his re-election theme and it isn't going to change.

And if he gets re-elected I don't want to live in a country where the majority of the voters are that brain-dead.

"WHAT ECONOMIC MESSAGE??"

"That, uh, even though I've been in office for three years and have accomplished, uh, nothing, except for uh, destroying the middle class, and even though the top 20% of income earners pay 87% of all income taxes, and 47% of Americans pay nothing, we need to, uh, raise taxes on the wealthy so they can, uh, you know, pay their fair share.

According to the local radio reporter, 60% of the crowd is under 20. And no signs allowed.

I’d like to see him try to come down here and try that kind of ahem, stuff, with the coal barges going by in the background. I seem to remember him saying something about bankrupting the coal industry...and with a number of power plants being closed here in the tri-state area, I can’t imagine he’d be well-received. (That and we’re just too white down here for his liking.)
