What is up with this woman? She's writing as if she's lost her mind.

Can I suggest, without being ripped as Romneybot or a RINO or an idiot or a troll or someone who "hasn't recovered enough" the idea known in philosophical circles as Occam's Razor?

In other words, the SIMPLEST explanation is probably the best.

Maybe she believes Romney is the best choice.

Not everyone who believes Romney is a viable candidate is evil or stupid. Some are, yes. But all of them? If anything, she is taking a pro-SOMETHING stand.

I remember some media types in 2004, liberal ones, saying "We can't just say "I hate Bush!" The LIBERALS were saying, "We have to be FOR SOMEONE, not just AGAINST Bush." They were right...much of the 2004 message from the left was "Bush sucks!" And they lost...yes, I know a lot had to do with Lurch and the Breck Girl. But a lot also had to do, I think, with being merely ANTI-BUSH...

I despise Hussein's philosophy and governance as much as ANY of us here on Free Republic. I am still in the process of figuring out WHO I am for, as my state primary happens in only 27 days.

I respect ANYONE who pushes a pro-Mr. X candidacy, even if I disagree with their candidate's positions. At least they're out there promoting SOMETHING.

I believe THINKING people (and most long-time FREEPers, I think, are THINKING people) react better to "Here is why you should vote for X" than "X is a low down dirty scumbag, so you shouldn't vote for him."

I don't mean we shouldn't look at people's record, either--of course we should. Romney has done a lot to earn criticism...but so much of the invective I see here seems to be rants against Romney and precious little in the realm of "Instead, vote for _______".

Okay, I hope this is taken the right way. I do respect you all...I am just concerned about the seeming hatred for anyone who thinks Romney isn't an evil SOB. (I am not addressing the facts about Romney here, just the reaction to people who don't demonize him.)

Many of us who rip Romney do not yet choose a candidate in opposition to him. You admit that you are undecided with 27 days to go. You may be maintaining a completely open mind. I do not. I despise the Mittwit, paleoPaulie and Huntsman. I will not vote for any of those three even if they are nominated. I could have voted for Herman Cain or for Michelle Bachmann. I will be voting for Rick Santorum or for Newt Gingrich or for Rick Perry as things stand. At one time or another, I have favored each of those five.

The primary in my state is a few months away. I will vote for the conservative with the best chance of beating Romney. After Romney, Paul and Huntsman are disposed of, we can concentrate on eliminating Obozo and as many bad US senators and congresscritters as possible.

It is the Mittwit's track record as an undependable political weathervane and a true son o his similarly execrable father that demonizes the Mittwit. Romney can not be trusted to eliminate Obozocare since he is its real father. Romney cannot be trusted on guns, babies, marriages, resistance to "gay" everything, opposition to "global warming" hallucinations, and a wide variety of of other issues. His mission is to make the world safe for his fellow trust fund babies and for Muffy and Skipper and their chums down at the polo club. His foreign policies would be sell-out as usual. He would do absolutely nothing to improve employment or to stop the bleeding of modest jobs to Bangladesh. He has no clue as to the lives of ordinary Americans nor does he give a rat's patoot. He is the embodiment of the stereotype hyped by Demonrats of representing the trust fund/American community and being devoid of functioning brain cells.

I am not beating up on you but I am beating up on the Mittwit. Since Huntsman and paleoPaulie are road kill, there is no point in wasting time beating on them. Not all politics is positive, warm, cheery or reflective of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.

Although I am not a fan of William of Occam as a whole (some say he was the beginning of the end of true philosophy), I do employ Occam's razor regularly as a useful tool.

I will grant the likelihood that Miss Coulter believes that Romney is the best, in her judgment of the existing candidates. Besides the fact that she says he's her favorite, it is consistent with her preferred profile of consistently preferring button down non-conservative northeastern types (the execrable Simmons in CT over McMahon, Christie, Romney [twice])

She also backed Romney in 2008, when some decent people thought he was the more conservative alternative to McCain.

Last year, she stated that Christie was the ONLY hope for the 'pubbies to win '12. This all shows a consistent judgment favring a particular type.

If you are a northeastern Republican running for a low-level office, you might think that Romney will stick less. I knkow that feeling, I had to run under DOLE in 1996. He pulled all of 27%. I pulled 32.75%. Thanks, Bob.

All that said, since we KNOW that Romney is neither trustworthy, nor conservative, nor an opponent of centralized, mandatory health insurance (freedom lovers don't really care if a bad idea is implemented locally or nationally), then:

Occam's Razor forces us to conclude, that:

Ann Coulter has poor judgment.
