I covered the SCORE Baja 500/1000/San Felipe races back in the late 90s/2000. Getting 20 miles south of Ensanada to Cabo reveals a stunningly beautiful country. But no more do than NorCal, the Grand Tetons, the Blue Mountains or the Adirondacks.

I certainly understand people’s desire to travel out of country, but many of them never traveled IN the country to the above or a thousand other places as beautiful.

Most are among the best people you’d ever want to meet and I have a number of friends there from my time at the races. But since South Central LA is now safer than Baja, that pretty much tells people all they need to know.

None of those places are tropical and most are in the mountains. Some people have to get that tropical dose especially in the winter.
