Embattled Attorney General Eric Holder will testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, chaired by Congressman Darrell Issa, on Thursday, Feb. 2.
He had initially been asked to appear on Jan. 24.
Holder is under fire for his handling of the Justice Departments response to the Operation Fast and Furious scandal, and for being less than forthcoming to congressional investigations launched by Issa and Senator Charles Grassley. Many members of Congress have called on him to step down.
According to a House committee press release, Holder will be asked to address management deficiencies within the Department that occurred both during and after the conclusion of Operation Fast and Furious. Translation: Who knew what and when did they know it?
The Department of Justices conduct in the investigation of Operation Fast and Furious has been nothing short of shameful. From its initial denials that nothing improper occurred, to efforts to silence whistleblowers who wanted to tell Congress what really happened, to its continuing refusal to discuss or share documents related to this cover-up, the Justice Department has fought tooth and nail to hide the full truth about what occurred and what senior officials knew. Attorney General Holder must explain or reverse course on decisions that appear to put the careers of political appointees ahead of the need for accountability and the Departments integrity.Congressman Darrell Issa

They are not there in the MSM because they are protecting their favored party.
No one died in Watergate.
Gunwalker ping.
Holder to cross his fingers and hope and we can only hope....
This “investigation” just proves that Republicans are racists. /s
In case you missed it....pibg.
I don’t know how the man lives with himself. Watching him on television, he just looks and acts like scum, as far as I’m concerned.
Don’t have anything good to say about him, so I will shut up now.

Is Holder going to be under oath this time around...?
No big deal. He will just shuck and jive anyway, and avoid answering any of the questions directly. POS.
“Is Holder going to be under oath this time around...?”.......
He damn well better be under oath. He dodged that simple little formality last time. If the Pubbies miss that again, they too should be charged, with aiding Holder by giving him an “out”.
Investigation into the issue of “Fast and Furious” is an inside investigation into activities inside the agency (it is all ‘in house’) will result in more obfiscation . FUBAR
It is the Dept. of “Just-us” investigating the Department of “Just-us” (think in terms of a ‘Daisey-chain’)
The key question is : “ Is Holder going to be under oath this time around...? “
Hats off to Issa for playing the pit bull on this. Holder needs his scrawny neck wrung (figuratively) in public. If necessary, Holder will fall on his sword to protect his master. But there are others in justice that may be more inclined to open this up.
“This should be a front page story with demands of special prosecutors, impeachment, jail time.”
I just did a news search and there is no real media coverage. If this was a GOP administration, it would have been the major story of the day.
Mr. Holder, do you see any correlation between the events that led up to and subsequent to the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building commonly referred to as the Oklahoma City Bombings,
and the atrocities of the failure destined Operation Fast and Furious?
Is there any evidence to suggest a common thread between the two?
Is it simply coincidence that allowed the USS Cole, 1993 WTC bombings, Ruby Ridge, Waco tragedies and the planning of 9/11 under your watch,
while no such activity has occurred until your reemergence at the DOJ?
So far as Holder being under oath:
Ross: Thank you Mr. Chairman (gets closer to microphone) Thank you Mr. Chairman and Mr. Attorney General I thank you for being here. I know it's been a rather long day, uh, for all of us. And I just want to clarify your understanding of your being here today, because there was some confusion, I think at the beginning. Is it your understanding that you're here under oath? (Long pause with a dumbfounded look on Holders face) That you're under penalties of perjury as to your testimony?
Holder: I'm here to tell the truth, sure.
Ross: OK. So you are, um, you, you believe that you're here under oath? Is that your understanding?
Holder: I'm not sure I'm technically under oath but I have an obligation to tell the truth. I didn't
Ross: to Congress.
Holder: swear an oath. I'm here to tell the truth. I. I
Ross: I thank you. I, I hope so. Thank you. Now, uh,
Holder: I'm not sure, sure, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna tell the truth. (Continued look of deceit)
Ross: I want you to tell the truth
