Gore Praises Romney's 'Climate Protection Plan'

Former Vice President Al Gore, America’s green guru, is a man who rarely says anything good about Republican politicians. But that’s until Gore read Mitt Romney’s ‘Climate Protection Plan,’ that outlined his cap-and-trade initiative in 2004, while he served as governor of Massachusetts. Grist, an environmental news website, quotes Romney as saying, “I believe the world’s getting warmer … I believe based on what I read that the world is getting warmer. And number two, I believe that humans contribute to that … I think it’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may well be significant contributors to the climate change and the global warming that you’re seeing.”

Upon hearing Romney’s remarks, Al Gore praised him for supporting his environmental movement.

According to Grist, “back when he was governor of Massachusetts, in 2004, Romney unveiled a Climate Protection Plan that aimed to reduce the state’s greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2010 and then about 10 percent more by 202, relying primarily on voluntary measures and requirements that applied only to the state government. His administration also helped shape the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, a cap-an-trade for Northeast states.”

Romney also blasted a heavy-polluting coal plant in Massachusetts in 2003, by claiming the state’s energy producer “kills people.”

I was on the fence, but now that I know that Gore likes Romney’s climate Projection Plan, I guess I am just going to have to vote for Mitt. </sarc>

John McCain, Santorum’s nephew, Al Gore. Surely that many great minds can’t be wrong.

For me, it's just a proof positive confirmation about everything that I've believed to be the case about Romney....

Obama and Romney -- Coal Policies:

Rick Perry campaign ad: - Carbon Copies [:60]

Romney’s Troubling Appointments (Mitt's environmental policy team now works for Obama) …………….“"EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson has taken most of the fire from Republicans as her agency rolls out a slew of controversial new climate and clean air rules. But McCarthy, the EPA assistant administrator of the Office of Air and Radiation, has taken on much of the heavy lifting of writing, structuring, and implementing the rules.

“Lisa’s the coach and Gina’s the quarterback” in the work of rolling out new clean air regulations, said Daniel Weiss, an energy and climate policy expert at the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank with close ties to the Obama administration. “She’s running the plays, improvising on the line.”

Another Romney environmental adviser in the effort to regulate “greenhouse gases” is now Obama’s Director of Science and Technology Policy, John Holdren. Dr. Holdren has some exotic views: …………..

He talks like a conservative,too...thats good enough for me.

In partial fairness to the sleek one, since I said similar to try to defend Newts years back position. It was a time when most where still hoodwinked completely by the green priest.
Where does he stand on the issues now assuming he has even did a basic study on the AGW scam. Time will tell.
