In most Islamic countries, graves are supposed to be unmarked for all. The person is said to be in a better place. Funerals are a private family business. The person is rarely mentioned and if they are, it's only to say “may Allah have mercy on their soul.” It's considered offensive to mention them again.

The way to dishonor someone in death would be to chop off their head, not preform body washing rituals, or to bury them with their head pointed away from Mecca.

This Paki stuff must be some sect I'm not familiar with.

That might be a Saudi Wahabi thing, not to mark graves. Sometimes they just take bodies out in the desert and bury them in the sands. But I googled “cemetery” with Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Amman Jordan, Kabul and they all have tombs or gravestones.
