Wind, solar....etc. should only and always be a supplemental unsubsidized alternative...not foundational to energy.

That's quite reasonable. I'm not opposed to alternatives-- far from it, but responsible mainline entities can provide the bulk of our energy needs with minimal impact to our surroundings. Private investments in efficient energy alternatives is the best path forward, which will yield, not coincidentally, the most innovation as well as potential for future strong job growth...it's just not going to materialize overnight because some bureaucrat snaps his fingers (or diverts tax revenues to a favored company with an unworkable business plan). I think that reality is slowly dawning on some of these true believers. But it's tough: pragmatism isn't their strong suit!
