Students Jeer Santorum on New Hampshire Blitz (for his views on social issues like gay marriage)

CONCORD, N.H. — As Rick Santorum sprinted Thursday through New Hampshire, a state with fewer social conservatives than Iowa, his views on social issues like same-sex marriage were quickly challenged.

A midday event in front of a gathering of college students here turned into a testy exchange in which Mr. Santorum compared allowing gay couples to marry to polygamy, apparently equating the two as equally undesirable.

“If you’re not happy unless you’re married to five other people, is that O.K.?” he asked.

The students booed Mr. Santorum during the 10-minute exchange and loudly booed when he left the room. The students were part of College Convention 2012, a forum organized by New England College and open to students from all over the state, regardless of political party.

Mr. Santorum, a Republican former senator from Pennsylvania, has generated criticism in the past for his views on social issues. In 2003, he argued that the Supreme Court should not overturn state bans on homosexual sex, saying that could create a precedent allowing bigamy, polygamy and incest.

“In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality,” Mr. Santorum said in a 2003 interview with an Associated Press reporter. “That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing.”

In an interview with CNN’s John King on Thursday, Mr. Santorum defended his 2003 comments, saying: “I said it’s not those things. I didn’t connect them. I specifically excluded them.”

The exchanges about social issues came as Mr. Santorum campaigned across New Hampshire on Thursday, telling voters that they needed a candidate with “core convictions.”

Geez, young college students with heads full of mush. They have no idea what the real world is about yet.

Yeah, that’s the petard they’re going to try to hoist him on. Among others no doubt. The last non-RomneyPaul standing gets my support while we’re still deciding on a candidate.

Wait till they get out this summer and try to find a job in
Obama’s economy. Maybe they will get it then. I doubt it.

RE: Yeah, that’s the petard they’re going to try to hoist him on. Among others no doubt.

Bill O’Reilly already hoisted that one on him last night in his interview with Santorum. O’Reilly kept interrupting Santorum on the issue of gay rights every time the latter was responding.

Attaboy genius students. You suckers fall for the “Social’ issues BS while your elites spend and spend, for which you’ll get the subsequent bill.

Enjoy going to college so you can pay others’ bills on down the road.

Idiots.

There’s plenty of summer jobs here in NH but American kids don’t want a lot of them - things like housekeeping and kitchen work. That’s why most of that kind of work is done by foreigners here these days. They are glad to have the work. They come here for a few months and work hard, then go back to Russia (for instance) and live well on what we would think of as a pittance.

If Rick was smart he should have said “0bama believes marriage should be between a man and a woman”.

NYT-Obama giving credence to pablum-brained Millenials who shouldn’t have the right to vote.

There are laws against marrying siblings, cousins, parents and multiple partners. Did the people giving Rick a hard time about his views defend those scenarios?

I already know the answer.

This is good. Let’s see how Rick handles himself against the useful idiots. It’s practice for the all out evil that inhabits our current government.
