Iowa Ballot Counter: Santorum Won
Newser ^ | 01/05/12 | Rob Quinn

Posted on 01/06/2012 5:26:19 AM PST by fwdude

(Newser) – Mitt Romney's 8-vote victory in Iowa was the result of a typo, according to an Iowa man who helped count the votes. Edward True, a Ron Paul supporter, says there were just 2 votes for Romney at his 53-person caucus, but the Iowa Republican Party's website says there were 22. The discrepancy "says Rick Santorum won Iowa—not Mitt Romney," True asserts. Party officials say True is not a precinct captain and shouldn't be talking about results, and discrepancies won't be discussed until all results are certified, which could take weeks.

Who cares. Iowa is a joke.

They are religious nut cases who seem to think we are electing the head of a church, not a president. (i.e., Huckabee, Rev. Santorum)

If it turns out that Rick Santorum won, that’s NOT good news as Iowa more often than not chooses the LOSER, just ask Poppy RINO about his ‘Big Mo’ back in 1980. He went to New England after that and got his clock cleaned by the Gipper.

Looked good on him too. ‘Big Mo’ my azz.

I was a Palin supporter, now a Newt supporter.

I know a few things about religious nut cases. My dad was a Baptist minister - I’ve seen one or two in my life.

Picking a president is not the same as picking a minister or spiritual leader. Iowa seems to confuse those job descriptions. Obama has a “perfect” family, Jimmy Carter was a “moral” man. Two of the worst presidents.

Sorry your comment is stupid and ignorant. 25% of those who chose to participate in the caucus cast their vote for Santorum. Where are the facts behind your statement.

So, “religious nut cases” voted heavily for the far-left Romney?

I think you have your states confused.

It's shameful that religious bigots are able to appropriate the name of our greatest President as an FR username to perpetuate their spew. The Gipper would have condemned post #2, which is ironic since post #2 was nothing more than a "number two".

Rush said yesterday they kept the count open long enough to get Mitt the votes he needed.

Apparently, there is a certification process involved even in this early caucus. This is news to me, as this is the very first time I have ever paid any attention to the Iowa Caucus to this degree. I guess things will be sorted out then, unless it degrades to the level of the Wisconsin judge race.

Newsmax

Huckabee: Santorum Could Go All The Way

Thursday, January 5, 2012 04:59 PM

By: Jim Meyers and Ashley Martella

Former presidential candidate and Fox News host Mike Huckabee tells Newsmax that Rick Santorum can make it all the way to the Republican presidential nomination — and says Rick Perry made an “incredibly bad blunder” in announcing that he was reassessing his campaign after the Iowa caucus.

Huckabee also warns Republicans that President Obama will launch a “vicious campaign” in his battle for re-election, but “the best weapon we have against Obama is Obama.”

They are Americans and therefore they are not a joke. They may not have the power that the media seems to anoint them with... but by calling them a joke you call every American voter a joke... and this Republic and our dangerous future have no jokes contained within them. There is nothing funny about anything going on in America today.

The Iowa caucuses are face-to-face ‘housekeeping’ meetings that ALL political parties must have to choose local party organizations.

In the early ‘80’s, Republicans added an non-binding straw vote (’straw vote’, for those in Rio Linda, means it doesn’t matter). Now we have FReepers, who should be more sophisticated observers, screaming like stuck pigs and schoolgirls over essentially nothing! It’s embarrassing.

Here’s what Santorum has to say:

“Here’s what I know,” Santorum told Fox News. “Having talked to the chairman Matt Strawn, who is the chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa, that all these counties are going to be reporting in, they’re going to be certifying them that there was one county where there was a 20-vote mistake in my favor but there was a 21-vote mistake in Romney’s favor so it actually netted out to what I understand is a one-vote difference.”

GO RICK

Yes, we must ignore the FR naysayers who drone on about Rick not having the charisma and personality for this campaign. The rabid attacks from the Left are proof that he does.
