Newt Gingrich on Thursday called for Congress to defund the National Labor Relations Board in retaliation for President Barack Obama¹s decision to make three recess appointments to it.
Speaking at a rally in Plymouth, N.H., the Republican presidential candidate said cutting money from the agency would be the "correct response" to Obama's move.
"The answer to an imperial president is a Congress which stands on its own rights. And the correct response to what the president just did would be for the Congress to zero out and refuse to fund the National Labor Relations Board," Gingrich said.
"The National Labor Relations Board now has a majority of members who were never confirmed by the U.S. Senate. This is a clear violation of the spirit of the law, and Congress has an obligation to defend our rights, and the correct way is the power of the purse."

Go Gingrich! Win the conservative heart!
I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!
Congress, the House I mean, must do something to stop the Obamable monster from overunning the Constritution and stealing power and freedom from the American citizens.
Personally, the federal government is destroying America faster than the islamic terrorists and the marxist liberal communists together. Both of which the monster Obamanation is Potus of.
Love it! he is telling congress exactly how to get around it. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NEWT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gingrich is right. Congress needs to take a new clear direction.
This is why I like Newt. Given the megaphone of a national presidential campaign, he will take it to the Kenyan.
The first words out of our mouths over here were "defund".
Let’s see if congress takes his advice. Would LOVE it!!!!
If they defund the Labor Board..it would be eliminated..no money.
JimRob listed this in Front Page News yesterday as a “Must See”: “Why Is Newt So Angry?””

A 15 minute video that needs to be “spread far and wide”.
The answer to an imperial president is a Congress which stands on its own rights.
He’s RIGHT. And they have the power to do it with more than just the NLRB.
The only problem COngress has is the two eunuch-capons Boehner and McConnell.
What a simplistic yet great idea. Will congress do it?
I know Congress can control the pursestrings of the NLRB, but I’m not sure they have to power to dictate it in or out of existence. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong.
Amen
He is right but Congress does not have the nads
Congress legislates ..writes the laws. If they defund the Labor Board they will be demolished or at best a weak organization. Look what happened to Gov Walker via the unions...Newt gave such a simple solution...HELLO congress..cut their money!
Starve the COMMUNIST beast!
