Wisconsin Gov. Walker: Unions ‘want me dead’
Washington Times ^ | 1-6-12 | Ben Wolfgang

With a June recall election all but certain, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says the debate is no longer just about collective-bargaining rights for state workers. Union leaders and others, he said, have made it personal.

“They want me dead. I don’t think that’s an exaggeration,” Mr. Walker said in an exclusive interview with The Washington Times after a roundtable discussion Thursday at the American Enterprise Institute.

His opponents have until Jan. 15 to collect about 540,000 signatures and trigger another election, which would surely center around Mr. Walker’s successful but controversial efforts to strip many collective-bargaining rights from teachers and other government employees in his state, all in an effort to close budget gaps and put Wisconsin back on firm financial footing.

Mr. Walker said he expects the drive to be successful and is preparing for the possibility that, for the second time in less than two years, he’ll be back on the ballot.

The recall initiative already has claimed several victims. In August, Democrats captured two seats in the state Senate, but fell short of recapturing the majority, which would have allowed them to block further changes sought by Mr. Walker and his Republican colleagues in the Legislature.

Central to the union strategy has been a successful public relations barrage that portrayed Mr. Walker as the leader of a right-wing, union-breaking movement that organized labor and its Democratic allies feared could spread across the country.

This time, however, Mr. Walker and his supporters hope to be better prepared.

Shortly after his inauguration in January 2011, union members from across the country descended on Madison and mounted an unprecedented public attack on Mr. Walker and his policies. At its height, the demonstrations drew nearly 100,000 people. Residents were bombarded with television, radio and print ads, funded with union money.

Wisconsin Recall Ping

This is a long article that Scott Walker gave to the Washington Times, but worth reading. Continues at the link.

Means justify ends, and the end is Communist revolution, “Union Made.”

Its not hyperbole either IMO.

I honestly believe that when this recall fails this will be the next step. The unions and other leftists have whipped up a rage that will not be curbed without Walker’s scalp and they have plenty of mindless, soulless drones to use for it.

Good grief, even the Washington Times can't get it straight that collective bargaining in Wisconsin is a privilege, not a right.

As long as people continue to equate collective bargaining with "rights", the good guys are going to lose the debate.

The unions, Soros, and other far left groups, will spend millions to win this recall. Where is the RNC, and all of the other organizations who should be defending this line in the sand? Is there some sort of PAC raising money to support Walker?

Since when does "two" = "several"?

Central to the union strategy has been a successful public relations barrage that portrayed Mr. Walker as the leader of a right-wing, union-breaking movement that organized labor and its Democratic allies feared could spread across the country.

I should think that given their paltry showing in the Senate recalls the use of the word "successful" here awaits the results of the Walker recall at the least.

Wow! That document is eye opening. IOW the Unions have the right to break laws, that normally bind the rest of us, without fear of prosecution. No wonder they are such bullies.

There have been many, many death threats against our governor and our Republican Senators. None have been prosecuted. Are you telling me that this is because Union members are EXEMPT from prosecution of such crimes?

Check out the special privileges union goons enjoy at #4, thanks to Congress. Apparently we are not all equal after all.

Well Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, and Adolf Hitler sure want him gone, based the number of times they signed recall petitions!

For any readers who think Gov.Walker is exaggerating, he is not at all. As my fellow Wisconsinites know, these liberals are batsh*t crazy and fully capable of anything because their free candy has been scaled back.

God Bless Scott Walker.

Wow. I had no idea it was this bad. Maybe unions would be a manageable partner if courts and government pinheads hadn’t given them cart Blanche to be criminals.

Do a google search of “United States v. Enmons union violence” or some such, and prepare for hours of chilling reading down the rabbit hole. Yes, it IS this bad.

Why deny it, Unions are part of King Obama’s gestapo like thugs. And those members that do not go along with it are afraid to try to leave the union under threat of injury or death.

Amen. You have this 100% right. Have you seen the knobs they get to stand out in the cold to get signatures. Most that I’ve seen don’t have shoe laces (velcrow shoes) and they need a shower.

The bumper stickers calling for Walker’s recall are amazing as well. All this because state workers had to begin to contribute towards the cost of health benefits (approximately $12/month) and their pensions?!?!?!
