You kill the competition, you get lazy. Not that they were ever that good at customer service. Generally some pimple-faced moron trying to upsell everything he can think of, or I should say, everything on the list they told him to upsell. Very annoying. Then long lines and slow checkout. They have a lot of neat stuff though. And ordering online and then picking up is a really nice feature, assuming they have your order ready when they say they will.

BUT, they get a lot of pressure from places like Fry’s and Microcenter. Not to mention sites like Newegg, Directron, and the Great Satan, Amazon.com.

Chiselers & cheapskates will checkout the item at Best Buy then buy it for less on line and avoid sales tax.

It's called competition.

No steenking gubmint rules protect me from competition in my line of work. Therefore, I have only contempt for those who advocate laws to protect their gravy train from competition.

(Additionally, I'm kind of an "instant gratification" kind of guy.)

Even though I am not a man I agree with you. Particularly at work when I need something, i quickly research on the internet and then order from Best Buy for store pickup. Usually within 1/2 hour I am on my way over to the store to pick up what I need and i know it is in stock and has been pulled and is waiting for me.

Best Buy is way too expensive. And you cannot just go in and browse. 30 minutes in the store and you will get pestered 5-6 times by sales folks who know less than you do.

Long live Amazon.com
