Today, Keisha Head is a wife and mother of three. But more than decade ago, she was the victim of a notorious human trafficker.
At 16-years old, Head says she was being sold on the streets of Atlanta for sex.
“I did not know that a normal, average man who was a preacher, who was a lawyer, who was a senator - could turn into this monster,” Head said. “That is the scariest moment when you are amongst people who claim to be normal yet they purchase you and they turn into these monsters. They rape you. They beat you. And then act as if they're normal. These are not your normal pedophiles.”
Experts say, across the globe, millions of people are trafficked each year. Hundreds of thousands of the victims are women and girls. But what surprises many -- is the rate it is happening in affluent neighborhoods where minors are being turned into sex slaves.
“The buyers aren't just pedophiles. The buyers are normal community men, normal leaders, people that belong to someone,” said Jennifer Swain, state coordinator for A Future. Not A Past.
A Future. Not A Past., is a campaign organized by the Juvenile Justice Fund in Georgia. Swain and her peers, such as Keisha Head, work to educate and prevent exploited children.
The organization lobbied Georgia legislators to pass HB 200 last year. A victory for victim advocates, the bill imposes stricter punishments on offenders and improves the treatment of trafficking victims.
“We have to stop the men. This is a very lucrative business,” Swain said.
According to the Georgia Governor’s Office, more than 400 girls are sexually exploited every month in the state. On average, the girls begin having sex for money between the age of 12 and 14.

Perhaps because they are slavers as well as pedophiles.
It always was everywhere.
People did not want to know because they chose not to know.
Then came computer bulletin boards in the 1980s, and international law enforcement stings began to be drowned in the thousands and thousands (and eventually millions) of pictures that said otherwise.
Pedophiles were not rare, and they existed in all strata of society. And there was just too much evidence to hide it away anymore, because a small percentage of them revel in the pictures as much as in the act, and that small percent could do well financially selling pictures to other perverts who just wanted pictures.
Thus the lid blew off of that which was once hidden away.
I guess “normal” pedophiles don’t pay for it.
Sorry but I dont think it’s gotten any better. It seems to be going on as strong as ever. The internet may have exposed some of it, but it hasn’t decreased the occurrance. Some of these pimps advertise out in the open, on Craigslist and such. They arnt afraid of the cops. They are as bold as ever.
And then combine everything with the Sandusky stuff. Just imagine how much of this kind of thing goes on and it’s never reported.

It's the road to dissolving sovereignty through global governance and Newt exposed himself on this with Pelosi. It doesn't matter whether he disavows it now, he'll only do what Julia Gillard did to get elected....disavow her previous position on AGW, get elected, institute a carbon tax anyway.

Just a wild thought.. how about naming and arresting the men who are doing this! The victims have no clues? they don't don't know where they were held captive? where the sex took place? what the men looked like? perhaps what some names are?
Not one mention on an arrest and not one name. Are the men doing this public figures "too big" to be held accountable?

I follow some missions working to clear out child prostitution in parts of Asia.
For the most part, law enforcement there will only go after foreign pedohiles, not the domestic variety. So in Thailand and Cambodia, and Vietnam where there is a huge pedophile population there is no enforcement to speak of - other than with the sex tourists and even that probably is only being addressed due to foreign pressure from the perp’s home countries.

Aberrations like pedophilia are the "crazy uncle" in the attic of human psychology.
A lot of people just pretend he's not there. Others have let him convice them he's just as sane as everybody else. Most of the one's he's managed to convince are as, or nearly as crazy as he is, but are better at hiding it.

The distinction likely involves the organizational structure of the illicit activity that facilitates access. I guess the “normal pedophile” relies on impulse and opportunity instead of commercial provisioning.
Swift, legal processing and execution of the convicted perps would send the right message.

Maybe referencing that plenty of 16 year olds can present as sexually mature women, particularly if groomed as such.
Not excusing it, just saying, these “customers” are not going for the pre-pubescent.
