Anti-Romney Movie Attacks to Bain Career
ABC News ^ | 01/08/2012 | z. Byron Wolf

Supporters of Newt Gingrich have bought the rights to a new short movie that is very critical of Mitt Romney’s tenure as head of Bain Capital.

Romney’s business career made him a very wealthy man, but has come under some criticism because Bain bought some companies and put them out of business.

The movie, called “King of Bain, When Mitt Romney Came to Town,” has not been distributed, but has been viewed by ABC News. It was made by former Romney supporters and intersperses interviews with some workers who blame Romney’s company for losing their jobs with ominous music. At one point it focuses on K.B. Toys, which made money for Bain even as it closed stores.

No other candidate in this race comes close to his leadership. This is why the liberals and moderates are doing all they can to kill his campaign. I remember all he has done for our country and I continue to contribute to Newt’s campaign.

I pray our side wakes up in time.

Some people work in jibs where they need to get it right every time. Pilots need to get it right every time. Hamburger flipper need to get right and cook the patties. There are many examples of professions in which people need to get it right every time. Venture capitalists and traders WILL NOT get it right every time. They just need to make more money when they are right than they lose when they are wrong. People in the pilot/hamburger flipper category might not understand the nature of some free market activities. People in sales might understand this.

In other words venture capitalists might make things worse and do things economically inefficient a large number of times - that doesn’t mean they are bad. That means they need to do really well on other times to make up for it.

Please...we are allowed to examine Romney’s record at Bain. Just because someone makes money doesn’t mean they did it in an ethical way or in a way that makes them cut out to be POTUS.

Romney himself has apologized for some of his actions at Bain. Doesn’t sound like he’s got a squeaky clean record there to me.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/13/us/politics/after-mitt-romney-deal-company-showed-profits-and-then-layoffs.html?pagewanted=all

In recent years, Mr. Romney has acknowledged having second thoughts about some of the deals he drove, saying his post-Bain career in government had sensitized him to the consequences of his decisions as a businessman.

What I am seeing happen is that Newt has been suckered in to this tactic, because Newt takes things too personally. He was attacked by the pro-Romney PAC ads in Iowa on his record. Wrong Paul piled on with additional anti-Gingrich ads. Both revealed some big government tendencies and the FACT that Newt sold out conservatism in 1996. It wasn’t nice, but it was true.

Newt commenced to whining about the “nastiness,” and now he is being nasty but Romney has moved on. Romney is not attacking fellow candidates but emphasizing Ubama’s dismal record and the need to correct course. Newt looks silly and petty, with his full page anti-Romney expose in SC and now with this movie. He also, based on his debate performances this weekend, appears anti-capitalist. Is this really a Republican position? He called Romney a liar, but he is the one lying about Romney’s Bain record.

Newt is doing exactly what the DNC and lib-media want him to. Stirring up the strife and mud-slinging among GOP candidates just feeds material into the Ubama campaign, especially when it favors THEIR anti-capitalist point of view.

It’s one thing to point out that Gingrich has big government tendencies and another thing to point out that Romney was a successful venture capitalist....

You are right. the other day, after Iowa, Newt said that just as it was between the summer and fall, his campaign is like a tortoise chasing the hare. He is very deliberative and substantial. Just as he had to take deliberative steps to stop the moderates and gather a conservative majority BEFORE he could defeat the democrats and revolutionize congress, he takes a similar approach here. The hour is getting late, but I see he again is starting to hit his stride. I remain confident.

Maybe you can also explain to us what duties Gingrich performed for Freddie Mac that merited $2.5 million into HIS back account. Isn’t it more than a little hypocritical on his part, esp. when he pouts about the “millionaires” funding the pro-Romney PAC that highlighted some of Newt’s record?

“Newt commenced to whining about the “nastiness,” and now he is being nasty but Romney has moved on.”

What an utterly hypocritical statement. So Mittens can attack Gingrich, but Gingrich can’t respond in kind....lol.

Gingrich will defeat RINO Romney in South Carolina, just watch.

Thank you for that.

I sure do appreciate good thinkers like you and Newt who can communicate so well.

The Tortoise and the Hare. Isn’t that perfect? I loved when Newt said that the other day.
He’s got SUBSTANCE!

This is a BIG MISTAKE.

For sure. This election is about communism vs. capitalism. Attacking Bain is like aligning yourself with obama and the 99 percenters.

Gingrich is hurting himself, with this promotion of a NY Times hit piece, more than he is hurting Romney.

There’s a lot of reasons to dislike Mittens, but the fact that he made a lot of money isn’t one of them.

I'm a Perry supporter through SC. After that, I'm going with Santorum. I do not want mitt to be our nominee but I have to say the RDS here is somewhat over the top.

Yep, the populist crap is sickening. It’s the heart of progressivism, this class warfare claptrap. Eeeevil wall-streeter makes millions at the expense of the poor downtrodden workers...it’s a Michael Moore movie waiting to happen. Someone on this thread actually cited THINKPROGRESS as a source, FCOL. What, couldn’t find the material in the Daily Worker??

I would LOVE to be a successful venture capitalist. It’s more honest than using your government connections to amass wealth.

I’ve decided to support Santorum, mainly because the whole stinking field is so bad that a warmed over ex-Senator with some statist, big-government tendencies actually looks better than the rest, though I have little hope he’ll change a freaking thing in DC.

Did you not read post 18 by untwist?

The point is that Romney is a corporate rebuilding expert for creating profits. The Reagan model is supply-side driven, driving tax-rate reductions, deregulation, consumer based ground up growth. This is where Newt has credibility. There is a big difference between creating profits and growing a ground-up economy.

Watch THE COMPANY MEN. Newt is Tommy Lee Jones' character. BIG difference.

“Gingrich is hurting himself, with this promotion of a NY Times hit piece, more than he is hurting Romney.”

....and Romney used liberal sources to go after Gingrich.

No, conservatives want to see Romney hit....lol, perhaps you come from a different perspective.
