Reality TV shows are only successful in three cases:
1) Where the subjects are enormously dysfunctional (Jersey Shore) or inherently funny (The Osbornes).
2) Where it’s a competition (Survivor, the Amazing Race).
3) When it occurs in exotic locales and the stars face massive physical/financial challenges (Deadliest Catch, Gold Rush, etc.)
Nobody is going to want to see some well-adjusted family going mowing the lawn and going to church each Sunday.
I would suggest a show about Christian missionaries in the Third World (assuming there aren’t already some) but it’s never going to be on a major network, but could make a religious network.
An excellent idea!
How about a show about miracles? Such as Tebow beats the Steelers!
You want a Christian reality show? I got you a Christian reality show. It has exotic locales and entire dysfunctional countries.
There are some really brave missionaries and doctors that work in hellholes like the Sudan. I know of at least one that has his family there, too (he’s a distant cousin).
Just follow these folks around for a month and you’ll have an entire season’s worth of material.
