At a campaign event this evening at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., President Obama indicated that he had successfully brought about "change"--an ambiguous 2008 campaign promise--by killing terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden. From the official White House transcript:
And change is keeping one of the first promises I made in 2008 -- ending the war in Iraq and bringing our troops home. (Applause.) The war is over and our troops are home. And instead, we refocused our efforts on the terrorists who actually attacked us on 9/11. And thanks to our brave men and women in uniform, al Qaeda is weaker than it’s ever been, and Osama bin Laden will never again walk the face of this Earth. That’s what change is. (Applause.)
The president also listed Obamacare as a change he was responsible for, though he failed to mention the unpopularity of his signature legislation.
And the president warned that Republicans threaten the "very core of what this country stands for."
The very core of what this country stands for is on the line -- the basic promise that no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, this is a place where you could make it if you try. The notion that we're all in this together, that we look out for one another -- that's at stake in this election. Don't take my word for it. Watch some of these debates that have been going on up in New Hampshire.
Supporters of President Obama's reelection effort paid at least $100 for tickets to attend tonight's event. A reported 700 folks were in attendance.
Or did it pay for covering up a total faked birth certificate with a "stolen" certificat number from a baby died in those days out of sync with the Nordyke twins b.c numbers, hmmm!!!
And no proof that he was not already dead and what we captured was a "look alike". The photo's we were shown looked awfully young to me. I think there are several Commies that have expired and a look alike put in place to maintain control. Tin foil? You tell me.

I know what you mean, but unfortunately, he's never going to go away, whether he's out in the next election or gets 4 more .... we're still having to put up with Jimmy Carter & Slick Willy.
And have ANY of the republicans or candidates yet responded to this? They are too busy tearing each other down and not one of them has made a bold public statement about obama's unconstitutional moves over the past week. He is not above the law and it's time the cowardly republicans and the media did something about it.

Amen! And I thank our marvelous armed forces for doing the actual work, and former President George W. Bush for setting out that mission in the first place.
Obama gets VERY little credit for this as far as I am concerned. It took him too many hours to finally decide it was in his political best interests to give our soldiers to go ahead to take him out.

The problem is Obama can only cite 1 accomplishment that was his and his alone, and thats Obamacare, and 80% of american’s hate it. And Completely failed economic and foreign policies.
Every other thing he cites, like killing Osama, would have been done regardless of the President.. does anyone think that if McCain had won in 08 that Osama wouldn’t be just as dead???
The guys got nothing to hang his hat on, the “successes” he touts in the war on Terror were simply continuations of the Bush policies he railed against as evil. Things he claimed he would do never happened, Closing Guantanamo... civilian trials for foreign terrorists, etc etc etc..

Even if we did, Obama had very little to do about his death. In fact, Bush had much more to do with it than Obama. So, better to point that out and not accept the premise Obama's using on Osama.
I'll bet it would not be too difficult to google text or video of Obama saying something like: "Bin Laden's not the problem" or something like that.
