Tim Tebow says he will not endorse in 2012 race (Being courted by GOP presidential candidates)
The Washington Examiner ^ | 01/10/2012 | byCharlie Spiering

According to the Associated Press, Tim Tebow will not be endorsing a candidate for President in 2012.

Sensing the excitement and loving his message, Tebow is also being courted by Republican presidential candidates. The quarterback recently told The Associated Press he's been asked by more than one of the contenders for his support. He wouldn't name names, but did say he'd declined the offer.

"I think you have to have so much trust in who you support, just from product endorsements to endorsing a candidate because if that person or company does something (bad), it reflects on you," said Tebow.

In this field of candidates? Shocked.

I don’t blame him. It’s nobody’s business. He gets enough grief from the MSM just for being a decent human being.

I know many have written to the Pope about a possible sainthood but I’m not sure how that works with non-catholics.

I’m with Tim. He doesn’t have to endorse anybody and who he votes for is nobody else’s business.

IMO, it speaks to the desperation of a candidate who would ask a 24-year-old football player (albeit an admirable one) to endorse him for the highest political office in the country.

That’s wise of him. Play football and stay out of politics. That goes along with my advice to actors: act and stay out of politics. And the Dixie Chicks: just sing, stupids, and stay out of politics.

Good for him. Connecting himself to politics will only drag him down. Glad to see he`s staying in his lane.

I agree. It's nobody's business. But it is a shame that in America getting "grief" from the media has become the major reason NOT to make public your favorite candidate.

NEW TO FREE REPUBLIC?
STILL FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND?
DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS?
DON'T BE BASHFUL.

Here's the deal. Free Republic exists for you, and because of you. Without the generosity of people like you, Free Republic would wither and die. Then where would you go to find a group of like-minded people, standing for the values and principles of conservatism, spreading the word about those who would tear down our way of life, and just plain having fun?

Free Republic doesn't have the financing of some billionaire, hidden in the background. Free Republic is "grass roots" all the way. We're not looking for 10 donors with $10,000 each, but we sure could use 10,000 donors with $10 each. The dollar amount may be the same, but the difference is in how we get there.

WE NEED YOU! Anything you can give is so greatly appreciated. If you can become a monthly donor, that is fabulous. If five dollars is what you can manage, bring it! Your on-going support is crucial, and our thanks to you are immeasurable.

GOD BLESS YOU, GOD BLESS FREE REPUBLIC, AND
GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I'm convinced that's why there are often so many "undecideds" before a primary or an election. People often just don't want to talk about it and/or get hassled about their choice.
