The GOP has chosen. The destruction of the TEA Party is almost complete.
The Weekly Standard, National Review, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, & all the establishment Republicans have driven the TEA Party out of the picture.
Now we are told that taking Federal bailouts = capitalism & that anybody who disagrees should just shut up. Why did they TEA Party start in the first place?
Without ethics capitalism is doomed to corruption.
I expect every Romney voter would support Solyndra or GE... because "it's just capitalism"
I never said I give up. I just see what is happening.
Will you stop with this “danced with the enemy” baloney. Politics is not about the petty and the personal. You do realize the opposition has to sit down and work together all the time in government? If you spend your time hating people instead of hating policies, you’re a small-minded, dimwitted fool. To reject a candidate of enormous talent and tremendous accomplishment because of something so petty, insignificant and meaningless as a 30-second video represents the pinnacle of asinine stupidity. Anyone who thinks as shallowly and foolishly as you deserves to serve Mitt Hussein Obomney as your dictator for life.
Here is Newt’s discussion of why he was in the commercial, again easily showing that he is one of the smartest, most honest and fairest political figures of the last 50 years:

I don’t think Libertarians necessarily need to be alienated voting GOP. I’m Libertarian, but I support Gingrich obviously, as I feel he has sufficient limited government credentials for me to be comfortable voting for. And because I’m a pragmatist who believes he can defeat our Kenyan infiltrator.
Conversely, this is why I won’t support people like Santorum, because he’s a demonstrable statist with questionable philosophical values about the role of government. And most importantly, I don’t believe he has the right mettle and personality attributes to defeat Obama.
I doubt it...I never knew till this moment how moderate the GOP establishment, conservative punditry and talk radio actually was
moderate or simply whores for access
not one conservative of note has stepped up to stop Romney
not one...Todd Palin?
so where is his wife?
and so forth?
Rush?
Sean?
Levin sort of attacks Romney...feebly
it is nothing short of pitiful
every last one of them can kiss my ass...I’m done with them
I used to think third party folks were kooks
the GOP is pure crap today
they and Ailes have worked overtime to insure Romney
and talk radio just kissed ass to maintain that conduit they must have
Romney will be Bush I...
I couldn’t disagree more. Newt Gingrich did exactly what the Tea Party set out to do a generation earlier, with better preparation and with far more success. He is the spiritual leader of the Tea Party. Anyone who can’t recognize that either hasn’t researched the man or suffers from serious intellectual and/or analytical deficiencies.
I don’t like the progressive income tax. Newt and Perry are for the flat tax and they are my #1 and #2 candidates.
I listened to the show.
I did not hear it all, but I took it that Rush was entertaining the notion that there are times where capitalism exceeds its limit and becomes socialism for the few.
It’s a dilly of a pickle of a problem for the most listened to conservative in the world to tap dance, but there it is.
We KNOW that Socialism FAILS where ever its tried.
I like Perry’s notion of less regulation along with safe guards, I like his notion of “right to work” but let’s be fair about it.
The problem with Communism and Socialism have is that they remove incentive and create societal sloth.
Capitalism has problems but it promotes societal progress and an inner fire to be the best.
CRONY Capitalism is the problem....
I didn’t have a candidate either since Sarah raised the bar to where it should be. But Newt knows our country like no one else and one doesn’t burn the midnight oil on something they are just interested in but loves. And he can deliver a message the best of all - he’s gifted in that area, IMO. Then he has a proven track record of knowing how to get things done in DC. Then dealing with other nation leaders, Newt’s the guy for the job, no doubt about it.
It is A problem.
It’s not THE problem.
If Mitt Hussein Obomney gets the nomination, then I think we should draft a Trump/Newt ticket. Someone really needs to take a metaphorical flamethrower to the establishment and those guys are some of the only ones that have the stones to do it, the motivation to do it, and enough skill to have an outside chance of actually winning the election, or at least make the Republicans come in third, which would be a game-changing humiliation for them.
“The MSM is saying we need to hurry up and settle on someone. Why the hurry?”
Because: a) the two WORST ones - Mittens and RuPaul - have the most money and can outlast a far better candidate who’d be able to defeat BHO, and b) so many voters are sheeple who’re influenced by the earlier primaries and will vote for the one they see as the biggest “winner” of those primaries, not to mention all the media reinforcement of Romney and Paul.
BTW, the media doesn’t really want us to hurry up and settle on “someone”. They want us to hurry up and settle on Mittens.
Good interview, thanks.
I’ll add that my stockpile of sources I use to debunk the idiotic anti-Gingrich memes commonly spewed on here.
YUCK!
Trump is a jackass opportunist.
I’m supporting Newt and hope he can garner the nomination. IMO, he is the best of the field. I’m guessing Romney will get the nomination, though, as it seems the GOP elites usually get their way. Let’s hope that isn’t the case this time.
If Obama beats Mitt, the Republicans will just say, oh, he was too strong a candidate, there’s no way we could’ve beaten him. But if a third party wins second place and puts the Republicans into the third place, they will have to acknowledge that they made a big mistake putting a phony empty-suited million-dollar-man up there and calling him a Republican.
THIS-—> “The Tea Party is alive and well. We just need to move it out of the GOP. It is time to start a new party.” <-—THIS
What's going on is not even capitalism at all. I think everyone should read the book, 'The Creature from Jekyll Island' by G. Edward Griffin. (It's a huge book, but definitely interesting and eye-opening.) That book made me SO angry at what has been going on, and that our country is being looted... and so many people still don't realize it. The worst part is when leftists call it "capitalism" and then call for an end to (all) capitalism. When it is not capitalism or the free market at all. It's collectivism. And I think if everyone realized how much our country is being screwed, there would be no more apathy or people blindly re-electing the crooks who continue the status-quo.
That may be true but that makes it all the better that he be the one to humiliate the Republicans. Plus he would get so much media attention that it would be sure to throw a monkeywrench into the race and upset the apple cart.
BTTT!!
And let’s face it, Trump would be a better president than any variation of Mitt Hussein Obomney.
I'm not interesting in wasting my money and time on losing operations. 3rd parties have failed since 1856 even with former presidents running twice.
It's either fix the GOP or get Mitts and Obamas every four years. Get active in your local County/city Republican Party and local Tea Party and fix this thing.
“I always listen to Rush. Today I wanted to crawl through the line and strangle him. He doesnt get the fact we know that there are times where capitalism exceeds its limit and becomes socialism for the few.”
He really was an imbecile on stilts today, and perhaps a whore - don’t know his real motivation so not sure on the latter. Today Rush, Ron Paul and Pat Buchanan came out against Gingrich. Early for the Ides of March, but there it is.
“The fix is in. Central banksters want Romney and Romney theyll get.”
I think I am more worried about the nascent police state in Romney’s hands than the more idle and hapless Obama’s.
Good idea! I like that fighting spirit you have and Trump and Newt do have it. Let’s crush mitt the maggot which crushes the GOP elite, the media and soros!
“Iran Paul is a Libertarian Party representative, not a Tea Party representative.”
You’re so right -
“Romney will be Bush I...”
I think Romney will make Bush I look good. You can infer from my tagline the respect and affection I feel for Bush I.
What are WE going to do about it, besides complain on message boards.
In the spirit of the fighting spirit, I just sent this shot across the bow to Drudge, who has shifted fully into the tank for the Chameleon Candidate in recent weeks...
Be sure to tell your handlers that if Mitt Hussein Obomney is the nominee, there will be a spectacular act of creative destruction brought on by a third party in this year’s campaign. So have them pick up a new empty suit for Mitt the Shyster that’s a good match for bronze.
Donate money? Make phone calls through Newt’s online phone bank? Are there any good South Carolina-specific political forums out there that could be targeted with message board postings?
Rush doesn’t think any of these venture capitalist purchases and sell-offs are incorrect?
Too many of these decisions were made to make the VC the most money and then to lay pensions on the taxpayer.
They were all done within the law. I don’t require my fellow worker to have a law degree.
When Rush can make me angry at his analysis then I truly fear for my country. I despise his defense of the legalese of these actions. That’s all they are, legalese. And he was bitching the other day about congressional insider trading. What an short-sighted idiot.
I’ve never found hardly any fault w Rush but today I wanted to cry. To give groups who can buy out companies and then violate agreements is wrong.
Agreed except the tea party has largely been it’s own worst enemy by not sticking with the basics:
No bailouts
No subsidies
No special favors
No whining
I’m all for a big tent but not so big that it moves the basic party platform into another realm entirely. Ron Paul is threatening to do that.
“Newts the guy for the job, no doubt about it.”
I AGREE - he would kick BHO’s butt without blinking.
But as long as we all stay so divided, we’re letting him die on the vine and lose to a couple of despicable charlatans.
I didn’t listen to the show, if he was backing raiders it probably would have pissed me off as well. He is an entertainment venue however. Always has been. Corporate interests are part and parcel. He is not the ‘little guy’. He is the ‘elite’. I can’t remember the last show of his I listened to. Not bashing him, just not taking the predictable slant you describe as a shock. He’s always better than network news from what I’ve heard in the past.
I thought rush was pro-palin pro-gingrich but today I realized he’s tanking. He took Gingrich’s comments way out of context. He loves context and smashed it to hell.
I don’t read anything into NH. However, polling in SC and FL show Romney’s numbers to be rising.
What’s up with that?
I never thought I would say this, but I think I’m leaning towards a brokered convention, as long as they will give us a better alternative, and the TEA Party has a say in it.
Exactly. He did a total pivot. Romney will be the GOP nominee, and no doubt about it.
We all know the establishment is in the tank for Mitt. What we need to do is "become" the establishment. That means get involved in your local tea party, your local Republican party, and become active in your local elections where you make the most impact. Local is a relative term because there are limits. I only can impact part of my county, and sometimes a neighboring county that's much more republican.
Why local? Because most candidates come from somewhere. Barack Obama started as a state senator. Rick Perry was a state rep. Bill Clinton was an Attorney General. Many others started behind the scenes as aides or staffers. Santorum, LBJ, Newt. Most staffers are campaign staff for candidates. Most presidents in modern times were governors. If you want good candidates in the future, the best chance is to elect a good governor in your state.
For the presidential race short term, money helps. Calls supposedly help, although I personally hate them. Organizing in your state when it is up for voting.
Long term, become a precinct delegate or state equivalent. I don't know how it works in your area, but here precinct delegates vote for our party leadership locally. They also vote for delegates to state convention and choose district and state officials. That's how a good friend of mine ended up as an officer in district party. He was actually unopposed, but he's been active for ten years.
The problem is most people don't have the patience or organization to see things through.
“I thought rush was pro-palin pro-gingrich but today I realized hes tanking. He took Gingrichs comments way out of context. He loves context and smashed it to hell.”
I disagree.
You heard him go after Gingrich. However, he attributed Gingrich’s reaction to Romney’s scorched earth tactics in IA, and said that Newt had the right to defend himself.
He disagreed with the way Newt went about it, though.
Frankly, IMO, Newt brought to the forefront the arguments against him that Obama will use, and I am still waiting to see his answer.
So far...crickets? Unless I missed something, which is entirely possible. ;o)
He’s always been independant, in my opinion. But he just gave a pass on people buying companies and whether they were profitable enough to keep going or to break up. it was up to them.
It’s not his forte’ yet it was ok whatever they did, whether it made financial sense or made someone a lot of money.
He doesn’t realize he came across as aristocracy. That’s what amazed me.
If you had a Ron Paul sans the virulent isolationist rhetoric, they’d do decisively well with conservatives IMO. You don’t see a lot of argument here from FReepers against Ron Paul’s domestic policies.
Oh, and also sans the disingenuous, nasty campaigning Paul does.
