SALINAS, Calif. - Bullying is taking a new form online, but it's not kids attacking other kids. Now, they're turning on their teachers. What kids are doing is they're pushing their teachers over the edge, secretly recording it on their phone and uploading it to Youtube. It's becoming a teachers' worst nightmare. Students are purposely getting them angry so they can capture it all on camera. You can find a number of "Cyberbaiting" videos students are posting on Youtube. In one of them, a teacher is accused of spitting on a student, another one shows a teacher throwing and smashing desks around the classroom as kids laugh.

to be honest many teachers do need cameras in their class rooms as do need to be watched.

They should have cameras in every room and parents should be given a password so they can go on the link given to them and watch and listen to teachers giving lessons.

This way it might stop some of this B/S some liberals say to little kids.

IMHO, there is no excuse for this under ANY circumstances. If a teacher gets caught at this (or similar) behavior, they deserve what they get.

Let me say this ... in addition to a lot of industries there are bad teachers too. The real problem is that they get protected by school’s administration. I am involved in a situation where a teacher is bullying and picking on a student after he has been transferred out of the school, telling his piers about the kids medical condition and mocking the fact that the kid is on medicine. There are sick people in every profession

My husband advocates a civil society. His surprising comment when I mentioned this post was, “I can see how kids could easily get a rise out of those emo libs who teach garbage to our kids.”

It’s necessary either.

Each time the little darlings act up, assign another sheet as required homework.

If the students want to take home 25 sheets of homework, or fail the course, their choice.

Nonsense.
It is ILLEGAL and CRIMINAL Offense to record record anothers conversation.
Arrest a couple lock them up a while and fine the parents and this will stop.........
Last year I taught a Sunday school class. When I took over the children were bringing half the house with them.Backpacks full of Ipods games music etc. Memo to parents went out, Your child needs only their Bible for this class all else is provided. Everything else is checked at the door and locked away.

that just goes to show why every classroom and hallway needs cameras for parents to log into the school and watch their child plus hear and watch what the teacher is doing.

Why the GOP has no insisted on this is beyond me.

Well actually I do , it’s the GOP but surely it makes sense to have them.

I went to my school district meeting a few months ago when they were crying over no money and that taxes needed to be raised.

When I mentioned this the teachers at the meeting had their jaws drop but nearly every parent thought it was a good idea along with me mentioning that if the schools did not have the money maybe the union with their hundreds of millions could supply some money.

“It is ILLEGAL and CRIMINAL Offense to record record another’s conversation.”

I thought this was only in regards to a private area, and that public areas such as classrooms, parks, etc. there is no expectation of privacy? If you’re saying it in front of 30 kids, it’s quite a bit different than a one on one conversation.

do you agree with my post above?

To me teachers would not pull their stunts, kids know parents are watching, to me it is a win win.

Well except for those teachers with an agenda.

This is true; there are a lot of bad teachers out there. My oldest son was stuck with one in 3rd grade; everyone knew she was awful; all parents with kids in 2nd grade dreaded getting her the following year. But she kept her job.

My guess is that the kids bait the ones they know they can bait, or want to bait, because they are bad teachers. They leave the good teachers alone because kids like good teachers. So in a way, this might be a good thing. It’s classroom Darwinism; weeding out the unfit.

I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with this. I can understand a teacher confiscating an Ipod or whatever because it’s in sight, but if there is some sort way to record that is not disrupting the learning process and EVEN IF IT’S SECRET and happens to catch an outburst, well then there it is. Yes, videos can be manipulated to only contain certain clips, we all know that. But a teacher throwing desks around? Sorry, but that isn’t cute and isn’t acceptable in any way, shape, or form. I would actually like to look into this because of the various issues WE have experienced regarding our school + teachers.

” If the students want to take home 25 sheets of homework, or fail the course, their choice.”

Then the school comes and says “you have to pass 80-90% of the kids in your class or you’re outta here”. In some schools, 10-20% of your class never comes to class so you are forced to pass everyone or get fired.

I know many teachers and it’s pretty typical among public schools. It’s one of the main reasons the system fell apart. We have kids that don’t learn a thing, yet pass every class simply for showing up to school. School has become a babysitter.

In Canada, at least under the Alberta system, you can still fail and teachers can still discipline.

I want 2 cameras in the class: one facing the teacher, and one facing the kids. Freepers have a tendency to believe that all teenagers are like their own little darlings: who are of course perfect.

We were told just yesterday that if you flunk a special ed student, his parents can sue you in civil court and garnish your wages. Even if he’s never there, even if he never does anything, even if he utterly ignores you and prowls around the room harassing other kids. You cannot fail him.
