DENVER — Sen. Angela Giron on the first day of the new legislative session Wednesday introduced a modified version of a bill that failed last year proposing to afford illegal immigrants in-state college tuition rates.

The Pueblo Democrat’s revamped proposal, SB15, mirrors last year’s bill in that it would allow Colorado high school graduates who have been in the country much of their lives and are pursuing legal citizenship to attend state colleges at the resident rate, but would not grant them state College Opportunity Fund dollars. “None of us want to create an underclass of people,” Giron said. “The state can’t afford that, and this country can’t afford a permanent underclass. They’re here. Let’s make the most of it.”

The new bill differs from last year's because it includes an option for colleges to refuse to participate. Giron said the caveat was added to appeal to Republicans who opposed the plan last year.

Giron said growing numbers of Hispanics — some who could benefit from her idea — are a resource to the state and the country, and a powerful voting block

Giron means this is all about how to get the votes, sell out America, to collect votes. And do say how many are really pursuing legal citizenship,

“None of us want to create an underclass of people,”

So, come here illegally and we will give you in-state tuition. But, don’t you dare come from another state and expect in-state tuition because you are just a citizen. Or should I say an underclass in this country!

UGH!

What part of ILLEGAL does she not understand? Round 'em up and ship 'em out. Give the tax dollars back to the citizens.

Today...

“None of us want to create an underclass of people,” Giron said. “The state can’t afford that, and this country can’t afford a permanent underclass. They’re here. Let’s make the most of it.”

Next session...

“None of us want to create an underclass of people,” Giron said. “The state can’t afford that, and this country can’t afford a permanent underclass. They’re here. Let’s get them voting.”

BTW, NOBODY "created an underclass of people," other than THEMSELVES.

How can an illegal alien pursue legal citizenship and why would that be a state determination?

In a Rat’s eyes anything illegal is a term that only applies to U.S. citizens.
