Lincoln was not about abolishing slavery....there is even a quote of his which said that if keeping the union intact means keeping slavery, then it must be done.
Don’t believe everything you read about him. You should read what Judge Napolitano says about him.....ain’t flattering.
Make me wonder if now a days if people even know what a “conservative” is?
Some of the young and naive think Ron Paul is “conservative.” That right there makes me doubt such polls.
I can call myself “conservative” but if I’m for abortion and homosexual rights...then I’m not.

I can call myself “conservative” but if I don’t want to maintain a srong and vibrant military - and project that power....then I am not.
The problem with many conservatives is that conservatism is their idea but liberalism is their practical application.
I believe even a convicted murderer is entitled to a couple of hymns being sung and the dignity of a bag put over his head before he is publicly hanged.
After all the Chicago elections, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Washington state, Stewie Smalley's recounts until he got the numbers he needed, the ACORN thefts, you all still believe that the Commie/Democrat/ Haters of the Constitution play fair?

This poll is evidence that a conservative 3rd party could actually win a national election.
The knee-jerk reaction is that a third party will throw an election, but the numbers say otherwise.

How many liberals call themselves conservatives. So many that I can’t count. I do not believe that this is true at all in the sense that I define a true conservative. Under my definition Rush Limbaugh is not even one any more. That is why he has to call the rest of us “So Called Conservatives”
We can’t even elect a person who is moral and believes in God and the constitution. And one that does not believe in deficits, and government handouts. That shows how many real conservatives we really have left.
To paraphrase George Will talking about another matter, it’s impossible to overstate the meaninglessness of this poll unless 38% of the Democrats make up 100% of the zombie demographic group.

Yeah, but those conservatives don't always vote for a conservative candidate. Like 'Blue Dog' Dems, or Southern 'Yellow Dog' Democrat voters. They vote 'party' period, because they were 'born that way' (as in: 'my family has always voted democrat').
Take the patriot and conservative Country Star Toby Keith. He BLEEEEEEDS American: red, white and blue. Yet he is a die hard democrat voter (YouTube interview: 'snip': "...Never been a republican in my family"). But I still like him and his music. Like,Beer For My Horses.
So try to figure stuff like that out logically -- You can't. That stuff is more inbred than the 'Big City' Irish Catholics voting for baby killing Democrats generation after generation.
But when we got married not only did we flee Chicago, we fled Cook County and moved to conservative DuPage County (and are still here 36+ years later). I honestly felt what MLK Jr had once said:
Free at last. Free at last. Thank God Almighty, I'm Free at last!
Going into that new Voting Booth for the first time and seeing that new ballot full of names was almost spiritual. I could vote for anyone I wanted to without any possible 'repercussions'.
You got it! Some who claim to be conservatives even voted for Obama. If you are actually a conservative and voted for Obama you are an idiot.
