"What the hell are you doing, Newt? I expect this from Saul Alinsky! This is what Saul Alinsky taught Barack Obama, and what you’re saying is part of the reason we’re in so much trouble right now," Rudy Giuliani said about Newt Gingrich attacking Romney over Bain on "FOX & Friends."

Rudy: “My emotional inclination is to support a Gingrich, a Perry and Santorum. I like their version of a more consistent long conservatism as opposed to Mitt. What they are doing to Mitt right now is totally unfair and bad for the Republican party”

If you recall 2008 nomination, there is no love lost between Rudy and Romney. Romney was consistently attacking Rudy, debate after debate. Romney probably cost Rudy the nomination, and election.

I think on this criticism, Rudy is doing it out or principle.

I saw the Guliani rant this AM on F&F.

I agree with him. There are plenty of legitimate ways to attack Romney (the many flip-flops) w/o attacking basic Capitalism.

As Guiliani said, the attack on Bain Capital is pandering to ignorant populists, much like Obama does, & not the ideas of a conservative.

This shows again that Gingrich is NO conservative. This week, he is playing a populist. The man cannot be trusted on ANY issue.

The current Pub candidates for Pres. are surely a pathetic bunch.

Okay someone wake me up from a nightmare.Gingrich who was a Pelosi sofa sitting RINO not long ago is the hero and he is being stopped from campaigning and trying to expose Romney? All because some idiot GOP senator said all the Romney bashing sounds like Obama and Greta told him basically Romney can sure dish it but he is off limits? This is crazy.

Let me off the merry go round.I will support Gingrich or Santorum or Perry if a miracle happens but how did we come to this garbage?Seriously Haley Barbour pardoned criminals that the states AG is chasing wth! Good is bad and bd is good and all’s I can say is FUBO!

I am off this site till November, 2012. I am going to take refuge in “George Noorey’s Wacko to Wacko Radio Show” where the commentators and listeners are saner.

w/o attacking basic Capitalism.

Another misdirection.

Romney touts his "job" and holds it up for examination. Someone did and all of a sudden you CAN'T ask questions? I don't think so. Romney runs on his "private sector" job and claims to have created 100,000 jobs. Questions are fair game. And bet on it the Dems are going to EAT HIM.

"The criticism of Newt on Bain has officially jumped the shark. It has gotten infinitely more ridiculous than the actual Bain criticism itself."

I am inclined to agree, it's a full court press by the establishment to put Romney over the top.

re: The current Pub candidates for Pres. are surely a pathetic bunch.

I agree, and with the rest of your post. The only one I was excited about was Michelle Bachman. Some people just have the right instincts and Bachman is one of them.

I was fully aware of her lack of experience and thin resume, and it eventually caught up with her. Other than Bachman, I liked Cain's 9-9-9...

With the lemons we have left, we just need to make a lemonade, get Obama out of there...

And Rick Perry was a big part of Giuliani's campaign, which surprised me to hear him criticizing Perry today. In the article Giuliani describes him as still being a close friend, so for once Rudy maybe doing something on principle.

Was Giuliani wearing a dress, heels and a wig when he made this demand?

Interestingly enough, Rudy failed to attack his buddy Perry for saying the same thing about Romney.

I hope Newt keeps getting back in the faces of Giuliani, Rush Limbaugh, Mitt Romney, Karl Rove, and others who have been cheerleading for Mitt Romney.

Stop spreading misinformation.

Giuliani said in this very video that he prefers Newt to Romney. And, as for Rush, here he is last October flat-out stating that Romney is not a conservative:

Romney is not a conservative. He's not, folks. You can argue with me all day long on that, but he isn't. What he has going for him is that he's not Obama and that he is doing incredibly well in the debates because he's done it a long time. He's very seasoned. He never makes a mistake, and he's going to keep winning these things if he never makes a mistake. It's that simple. But I'm not personally ready to settle on anybody yet -- and I know that neither are most of you, and I also know that most of you do not want this over now, before we've even had a single primary!

The 2008 Roots of Rudy's Beef With Romney

Giuliani ran an awful campaign, though. If he lost, it wasn't anybody else's fault.

I don't know if you were here back then, but there was a lot of hostility to Giuliani. People who say they'd never vote for Mitt today were saying the same thing about Rudy four years ago.
