you know, hindsight is always 20:20, but it seems to me that we ought to have LET Saddam, the insane and dangerous but secular dictator take the Saudis to task.
it would have meant that AlQaida would have remained fighting the secular dictators in the Moslem world (Saddam, Assad, Mubarak, etc.) and the Saudis wouldn't be able to spend their money on sponsoring the Taliban and AlQaida.
The iranis too would have been involved in some Iran-Iraq war part II with their attention turned there and lots of fanatics killed.
And, if Saddy ever managed to get or come close to nukes, you can bet that the Israelis would know about it and destroy it before it got out of hand
