If you are a conservative and believe in their principles, you may be upset with Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry. Their vicious attacks on Mitt Romney and capitalism have been relentless, and the fallout is just beginning. Perry has lost a top supporter in Barry Wynn who hates the anti-capitalism rhetoric. Gingrich has garnered sharp criticism from Republican heavy weights like Rush Limbaugh and Rudy Giuliani.

Sorry, Crichton, but I do know what I’m talking about.

One of Bain’s methods was to buy a company, temporarily boost it’s earning by lowering its cost, borrow tremendously against that increased potential, buy back the shares of its investors with the borrowed money, and then leave the company to go bankrupt when it could not continue the pace higher earnings needed to pay off the borrowed money.

By that time, their shares were no longer in the company.

Additionally, they’d use smoke and mirrors consisting of holding companies, bankruptcy laws, corporate law, and manipulated appraisals to enormously profit from particular targeted companies.

That is not how a free market works, and if you were one of the non-Bain bond holders of that company or one of the employees, creditors, or contractors walking into bankruptcy court with only a prayer of getting pennies on the dollar, then you’d not feel so kindly toward Bain and Romney.

Romney is the ultimate vulture capitalist.

So your point being, this is really NOT an attack on capitalism.
You just don’t want Newt to win, and it is better to beat up Newt
and Perry about their questions about Romney.

It's time for conservative and Tea Party supporters to merge. I can't hardly watch the negativity in the press right now.

Then don't watch. I haven't watched TV news in over 3 years and my life has been a lot less stressful.

I’m much more turned off by Rush’s and the former mayor of NYC’s attacks on Newt and Perry for responding to dirty politics by Myth, then I am for the actual responses by Newt and Perry. But keep on selling those broken down arguments GOP PTB and see if you can get anyone else to buy into them.

I suppose that next they’ll blame Rick Santorum for getting the dirty end of the Myth-stick this week, should Rick dare to respond to the lies and propaganda of Mitt’s super-scum pak. :rolls eyes:

Seriously. We're all sitting here begging for a conservative alternative to Romney, so what do his opponents do? Why, attack him from the left, of course!

I think my palm has become permanently attached to my forehead over the course of this election cycle.

Yep. What worries me most is the gaffes and bad decision making on the parts of Newt & Perry. What were they thinking? Didn’t they consider the consequences of their actions?

Friend, this Pubbie nomination process is in its infancy!!! If you are so narrowminded to think that the only folks being considered are those officially running, the you really do not know much about politics. IMHO, this road race is going to witness many twists and turns, with additional [players coming in and out of the lead or the race!!!

And.....please, I am not a Romney man, and...as for Obama, I might let him play “Buckwheat” in old time “Our Gang” movies. Obama as an American and human being is totally worthless with absolutely no redeemable attributes, period. IMHO, Obama is a true enemy of the United States of America!!!

Romney is the biggest fraud that we have ever seen in GOP politics, and you are promoting him?

And put in who? Romney? Paul? Santorum? Give me a break. Compare Newts record in the House to any one of their records. You people are getting tiresome.

If you are a Conservative, you will not give one second’s thought to somebody like Romney.

If that is your impression, please quote whatever has given you that idea.

Which one, quote posts like 33, or quotes showing Mitt to be a fraud?

If I attack Mitt won’t you just defend him again?

Which one, quote posts like 33

Post 33:

There are many, many, many things that Romney can legitimately be attacked on. It should be like shooting fish in a barrel

This is the quote that makes you think I support Romney?

Please have a little dignity and don't accuse everyone who debates you of supporting Romney.

What you fail to see in yourself is, you repeatedly attack Newt with baseless rhetoric, and fail to say much of anything about Romney. Instead, making every effort possible to take down our best chance of defeating Romney and Paul.

Perry can't win, santorum is a moderate Idiot who has been anointed as THE “Pure conservative”, when the very opposite is true. You simply miss the entire objective.

There is no one who watched the debate last night who didn’t see Gingrich win easily, thoughtfully, and dramatically. He wiped the floor with everyone else.

Romney was left trying to steal the other candidates’ applause lines. “I would kill them, too.” (Get an idea of your own Mr Romney.)

It was also obvious watching Romney that Obama is easily as good as is Romney. Romney is, as someone said recently, the technocrat. He really is robotic, and the robot has a permanently programmed haughty smile.

I agree VanDeKoik that only drama queens really are ranting about Newt going after Romney for his time as a crony capitalist at Bain.

In fact, Newt did us all a favor. He pointed out Romney’s unelectability in the general election against Obama. Ted Kennedy used that same issue to pound Romney to a pulp in a Massachusetts senatorial race.

And hopefully people get a grip and help Newt over the finish line before it’s too late!

The powder keg Romney has strapped to his rear would blow all of us off the electoral map once Obama gets a hold of him.

If a fat drunk murderer like Teddy Kennedy (whom lost to Jimmy Carter) can beat him, then what is he expected to do against the Obama machine?
