President Obama wants the power to shrink the size of the federal government. His first idea is to merge six trade and commerce agencies.

No they should not. The GOP controlled House should pass their own cuts to agencies like EPA, CPB, etc. and then challenge The Senate Rats and Obama to accept those cuts.

Barack Obama is a Socialist Marxist Democrat, any solution that does NOT empower the federal government will not be considered by this man.
Because of this, Congress should be suspect of all things barack Obama endeavors to do.
He must be stopped every step of the way.
The answer is; “You must not have been paying attention for the last 3+ years since you think this question needs to be asked.”

President Obama wants the power to shrink the size of the federal government. The power to shrink the size of the federal government would be an unused side effect of the power he actually wants. He wants Congress to cede to him powers that are the province of Congress. Eventually, he wants Congress to pass an Enabling Act to allow him to govern by decree for a period of four years.

Does ANYONE think that given the power, rather than SHRINKING the size of the various agencies, that Obama would not just use the authority to CREATE even more bureaus and subagencies?
