I gotta admit that I always thought it would be interesting to see what someone like Ron Paul would actually do as president. There is not much on which I disagree with him.
At this point, it can’t hurt.
Among mormons
In 2008 Romney with 94%
In 2012 Romney with 100% (the other 6% were excommunicated for disobeying their bishop)
After month of consideration of the candidates, they all suck. For the first time in 7 presidential elections, I will be not be voting for the GOP nominee.
If Santorum slides, one can only hope that Newt is the beneficiary. It certainly won’t be Paul.
Hmmmmm, the polls today seem to be somewhat scattered. There appears to be alot of fluidity in them. Anyways it appears Newt has a real shot to take South Carolina. We need to stop Mitt. GO NEWT!
Go RP!!!
Translation: To the extent that we know (and voters are playing with pollsters to a greater extent than usual, so pollsters don’t really know), everyone except Romney’s solid 25-30% is hoping and praying to find someone who can stop Romney. Perry was up, Bachmann was up. Santorum was up. Newt was up. Cain was up. When those temporary bursts of popularity go back down, Romney does not get their support. Conservatives have agreed that anyone willing to run is MUCH better than settling for Mitt, and they are vetting the options as they try to choose the most electable non-Mitt option. I just hope and pray that we make that choice after no more than three more primaries, so that the non-Romney option can gather more delegates than the big government, inside-the-Beltway, RINO option.
Can anyone really tell me the difference between Mitt and Barack other than one is half white while the other is maybe 95% white? The GOP is about to elect yet another Bob Dole as it’s torch bearer that will promise to continue the policies of his predecessors (Bush Sr./Clinton/Bush Jr/Obama). There really is no difference and hasn’t been for a long long time. Meanwhile the only candidate that truly does support going back to a constitutional federal government is shunned for having “scary foreign policy views”. Oh well time to close our eyes, stick our fingers in our ears and shout LA LA LA at the top of our voice in order to convince ourselves that “this time it really will be different”. Good luck with that.
Paul got about half of the 18-29 year old vote in NH. The final phase of high school and college indoctrination is complete. Not long before we may have to say adios to the USA as you have known it.
it seems as though this freeper site has been reduced to indifference. And they are content to let the GOP deteriorate into Romney and ronPaul factions.
I will not. I’ll stick with the NEWT-SANTORUM crowd for all 50 primaries/caucus. Even if Rick Perry is the only one left.
It’s very peculiar to see Santorum go from 24% to 7% in one week. Does anyone know of anything that happened during the past week to explain such a drop? Maybe Ron Paul hypnotized part of the voters of SC.
I have a feeling if Romney gets ultimate power the LDS church will be much more in the spotlight, will become a very powerful political controller and will work itself into being introduced on many levels of the lifestyle all across America.
But it could be worse, Romney could have been a Jehovahs Witness.
Paul going from 4th place to 3rd is worthy of a headline?
“Gingrich leads among evangelical Christians with 40%, followed by Perry with 15%, Romney with 13%, Santorum with 12%, and Paul with 10%.”
Now THAT is quite amazing.... and I love it.
Santorum needs to drop out for the good of the country.
Excerpts: “American voters must decide if they trust their party establishment more than a man granted with some personal flaws, but brilliant in delivering transformational change on a national level. It is Gingrichs ability to work in a bi-partisan manner, his ideas and solutions and above all, his willingness to tackle head on the difficult decisions which should make him the only candidate ordinary Americans would vote for to restore Americas economic strength and respect around the world.
The establishment are petrified what a Gingrich presidency would bring to the Washington gravy train. The inner beltway has for too long stumbled along talking big, but doing and achieving little. Gingrich may be a man of many words however; he is also a man who says what he means and does what he says.
The Republican Party hierarchy & playmakers are fearful a Gingrich presidency would solidify the Tea-Party & certain libertarian factions within the party permanently.”
Please feel free to start dedicated thread if so inclined.
A tweet:
“Children’s lives would be harmed if a woman was president, Santorum coalitions director Jamie Johnson wrote—WOW”
Anyone seen the written comment by Johnson?? Link?
If this is true, I expect Santoum to crash and burn REAL fast.
Why would GOP women be voting for Romney?
We need a fighter to go up against Obama.
Newt has proven in the debates and in the campaign against Romney that he is willing to take the gloves off.
The time has come to rally behind Newt Gingrich!
“Gingrich leads among men with 29%, followed by Paul with 23%, Romney at 18%, and Santorum with 14%. Among women, Romney leads with 38%, followed Gingrich with 22%, and Paul with 18%.”
Except, of course, for our intelligent FReeperettes, can’t we just have the women folk sit this one out?
