Quelle horreur! Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney has been skewered in a new political attack ad - for speaking French.
The ad, released by rival Newt Gingrich, seeks to draw unflattering parallels between Mr Romney and another Massachusetts politician, John Kerry.
Entitled The French Connection, it features a clip of Mr Romney talking in French when he ran the Winter Olympics.

Just another stupid attack ad for the slight-of-mind.
The Olympics are conducted in three languages, English, French and the language of the host country.
Really grasping at straws with this one. I think Newt’s starting to melt down.
It’s a good ad. The french part is comparing Romney to Kerry. It’s on Hotair.com
Probably projection on the part of liberals that believe fly-over folks are unlettered hicks.

More evidence that Newt is not a good choice. Stupid.
It moves votes. It’s dumb, it’s ludicrous, but sometimes things that stupid work.
Like the guy in New Hampshire who wasn’t sure he was going to vote for Romney until John McCain endorsed him.
That worked. John McCain’s endorsement got Romney a vote.
If that worked, why shouldn’t an ad showing him speaking French cost him a vote? Both reasons are equally stupid.
Kinda have to agree. I hate to say it but if Romney can get NEWT twisted like this with a few lies I can imagine what will happen when Obama is lying 24/7 with Nothing but attack ads!

Plays well in SC, doesn’t play as well somewhere else, same as Huntsman’s Chinese might play well here with us, but not in the Heartland.
Hey, Folks, why not start thinking how Newt might be doing some things right. I’m getting sick and tired of the Rush Limbaugh thinking he smarter than everyone else out there.
Newt wants to win. Everything’s fair in love, war and politics.
Great ad! Hilarious tone...and the French speaking part is pure humor.
Actually it raises the question in my mind about Mitt’s missionary work. How many Catholics did he convert to Mormonism? What exactly was he doing there in France?

I don’t see anything wrong with the ad. If we can make Romney look like Dukakis and Kerry, so be it. I’ll take anything if it helps take Romney out.
I have never met a Mormon man who was not bi-lingual. If you ever meet a white guy who speaks Japanese fluently he probably is a Mormon. I used to work for a Japanese company with manufacturing operations in Baja California. There were lots of tri lingual Mormon guys there. They all served as missionaries in Japan. They told me that they preferred going to Japan than to some third world cess pool.

Coming from the BBC I would think there is more to the story. The BBC is in the tank for Mitt.
