I think that there's another reason behind the world-wide support of "the palestinian oppression." By supporting those who have a deranged, generations long hatred of the Jews, those countries and governments who hate Jews are able to support the destruction of the Jews, without being subject to the guilt of another holocaust. It's "the terrorists" who are killing Jewish children, not the Europeans. But they're still able to "get the job done" by supporting those who want the Jews dead. Letting others do "the dirty work."
Sort of like an animal rights supporter who still loves a good steak. He can have his steak without the guild associated with the death of the cow.
