Groan..not again! Operation ‘White Gun’ another ATF foul-up?
Seattle Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 13 January, 2012 | Dave Workman

Posted on 01/14/2012 7:05:43 AM PST by marktwain

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that yet another gun trafficking sting operation mounted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives called “White Gun” possibly allowed guns to “get away” into Mexico.

The Times notes that White Gun had been “previously unreported.” It appears to have been on a much smaller scale, and the newspaper says there were three arrests.

Reportedly mounted at the same time as Operation Fast and Furious, the White Gun investigation is on the radar screen of congressional investigators who have been working on the Fast & Furious scandal. Some familiar names surface right up front, according to the L.A. Times:

In the late summer of 2010, the ATF agent leading the failed Fast and Furious gun-smuggling operation in Arizona flew to Mexico City to help coordinate cross-border investigations of U.S. weapons used by Mexican drug cartels. Hope A. MacAllister wanted access to police and military vaults for American weapons recovered by Mexican authorities in raids and at crime scenes. She especially was interested in firearms from another ATF investigation, code-named White Gun, that she was running…

… MacAllister was the lead agent. Her supervisor, David J. Voth, was head of the ATF's Group VII field office in Phoenix. His boss was William D. Newell, then the special agent in charge in Phoenix.-Los Angeles Times

Voth was the supervisor who sent the snide e-mail to field agents who balked about letting guns walk in Fast and Furious, suggesting they could get jobs elsewhere. Newell is the fellow who had problems testifying before Congressman Darrell Issa’s House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform last summer, as this column noted.

Northwest gun activists are already buzzing about this new revelation.

The fact the the LA times broke this story indicates that the administration is concerned about it. The LA Times has been one of the lead MSM types that has been spinning Fast and Furious in ways to minimize damage to the Obama administration.

Look for indications of serious problems to come out soon. I wonder if the Obama administration got wind of some information that Issa and Grassley have, and this leak was designed to minimize the future damage.

Heads should roll - send them all to prison. My dad rubbed this in my face when it first hit the news about all the greedy gun sells unloading 100s of guns to people taking them to Mexico. I tried to tell it he had the story wrong - Now he believes me and knows I was not “just defending” our local gun shop.

What a F-ed up mess this has caused.

Meanwhile, in other news a judge has agreed with the BATFE to require gun sellers in four states bordering Mexico to report multiple long gun sales.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Friday, in a victory for the Obama administration, upheld new federal rules requiring gun dealers in four states bordering Mexico to report the sales of multiple semi-automatic rifles, despite a challenge by the gun industry.
The administration issued the reporting requirements last year despite opposition from the gun industry as part of a stepped-up effort to clamp down on the weapons flowing across the border to violent drug cartels in Mexico.
The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ordered more than 8,000 gun dealers in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California to report the sale within five business days of two or more semiautomatic rifles to the same person. [...]

Proof that Obama’s F&F plan is working for him.

The whole thing came right out of the WH to attack our 2nd. Amendment rights, and it is working.

It is simply inconceivable that the Founding Fathers, sitting around at the Federal Convention of 1787 crafting the Constitution, would have thought to propose the regulation of alcohol, tobacco, or firearms as Federal powers.

ATF does not need to be restructured or shaken up, it needs to be dissolved, and forever banned, and the guilty parties in these scandals tried and punished as the “enemies domestic” that they are.

“ATF does not need to be restructured or shaken up, it needs to be dissolved, and forever banned, and the guilty parties in these scandals tried and punished as the “enemies domestic” that they are”.

Anyone who thinks otherwise, is not on the wave length of the founding fathers! “The People” so overburdened with work, family, faith, and very secondarily, their freedom have over time allowed government to exceed its authority, until now government has all authority stolen from those within whom it orginally lay. The only way it will ever be returned is the same way it was rescued from a foreign power to begin with.

The longer the time before this happens, the larger will be the population of servants and slaves unwilling to put government in its place. And thus it may never happen, which means in the end, the blood of all the patriots past, shed in our behalf, just may have been shed in vain.

I'm sure you've heard the one...I think I read it on FR:

Why do thugs hold their guns sideways?

Because that's how it came out of the box.
