Excerpt: Rush on Romney quote: "He'll Roll Back...Liberalism"
Rush Limbaugh radio program transcript ^ | Jan. 13, 2012 | Rush Limbaugh

--snip--

CALLER: Oh, yeah, we got bulldoze him. [Romney] He's gotta know there is no safe haven. If he's gonna represent the Republican ticket then he's gonna have to --

RUSH: Let me tell you something I heard him say --

CALLER: All right.

RUSH: -- that I don't know that he's said publicly. He said, if he wins, he thinks he'll only last one term.

CALLER: Now, are you talking about Obama or are you talking about Romney?

RUSH: He says that he is going to roll back all the stuff the left has done. He's gonna ban Obamacare. He's gonna fix Medicaid. He's gonna take on Social Security. He says, (paraphrasing) "I've got four years to save this country, and if I succeed I'm gonna be so hated, I may not get reelected."

CALLER: Well, I'll tell you what --

RUSH: And what he means by that is the media and the left is gonna come after him like crazy, because he is going to be taking on every one of their sacred cows.

I don’t know, folks, just passing along the info. My goal remains expeling Obama from our White House and getting both houses, too. I’m for the best chance to do that.

It’s one thing to have to hold your nose in the general

Who says one we have to?

It can certainly be argued four years Romney undermining conservatism would be worse than four years of gridlock with Obama.

If not for the potential for Supreme Court vacancies, I'd consider the latter the better option. But, then again, I'm not sure Romney can be trusted not to give us another David Souter.

And to answer your tagline, yes. If a slippery POS leftist POTUS is going to destroy this once great nation, I’d just as soon it not have an “R” after it’s name.

Rush has allowed his wife to liberalize his conservative principles. He is finished as a conservative.

I’m not comparing Romney to Reagan, not at all.

But it’s well known that RR moved considerably to the right as he got older. People, and especially politicians, can and do change. Whether or not Romney has is for the voter to decide.

Again, my goal is running Obama outta town next January. I’d prefer to do it with a Santorum but I don;t think he can win. Newt self-destructed in about 5 seconds after he gor a lead in the polls. Same for Perry.

What a mess but we simply have to beat Obama and his Dim cronies!

BS....Reagan was the same man that he was in the 50s. People do not change, they just get better at fooling people.

Newt is probably the worst on illegal immigration. “Establishing roots” + Attending Church + WWII Type Neighborhood Boards Run by Liberals = AMNESTY

Or sometimes they pretend to move to the right when they run for President.

Romney was well over 50 when he pushed through Romneycare, raised taxes and fees $700 million, attended Planned Parenthood fundraisers, included $50 abortions in healthcare legislation and signed gay marriage into law.

Friend, I am no friend or supporter of Mitt Romney. My team was Palin/Cain!!! I am ticked at many Freepers supporting Newt Gingrich. I’ll skip the majority of reasons why!!! But...my real frustration is that when Gingrich jumped all over Paul Ryan and his budget plan and backed Dede Soczzafava in NY23, Freepers, enmasse were ready to flush him down the toilet. Rightfully so!!! Newt, today is no different. He hobnobs with Pelosi, James Clyburn, bad mouths Paul Ryan. lies about Bain, Inc. and...bad mouths free enterprise and private industry!!! and...that is only beginners!!! the ppor gent is unbalanced and unfocused, and....should no more be POTUS then I should!!! As for Perry, there is just nothing there upstairs or throughout!!!

Oh I refuse to accept the GOP’s dog food this time if it’s Romney.

But still, the two others, Newt and Santorum, are nothing to write home about, but they certainly are marginally acceptable.

I think whoever gets in there is going to face really tough choices and the only way out is by doing the hard things that we have to do. Of course if Obama wins he will be tap dancing like crazy and he will spend a lot of time in his new vacation home

There is nothing in Romney’s polical career to indicate he would do any of those things mentioned.

The most stunning thing I’ve heard from Rush came yesterday.

For months, he’s praised Rick Perry’s conservative record. Only a week or so ago, he said, “Have you SEEN what this guy has done in Texas?” He is even on record as saying that Perry would be an ideal candidate.

But yesterday he started talking about “some candidates” who didn’t do well in the early debates and who some wrongly believe are dumb or not well-spoken. (Of course he was talking about Perry, but he didn’t have the guts to name him). Then he said, “It isn’t that they’re dumb; they’re just not really conservative.”

Unbelievable.

I've heard nothing about Romney that suggests he'll "roll back" anything if he gets into office. He strikes me as a reach-across-the-aisle type republican.

“People, and especially politicians, can and do change. Whether or not Romney has is for the voter to decide.”

It shouldn’t be a hard decision at all. Romney has flipped and flopped repeatedly during THIS campaign season. Have you missed his statements on global warming and his absolute refusal to disown Romneycare? Good grief, in one of the debates, he lied about his own NAME.

Well, everybody, we still have a few more primaries to go before anyone is nominated. Things may change.

I have to go but will check in later from my droid.
