For full disclosure, I went to Penn State but am not concerned about protecting its reputation. I’ve been critical of it before, and I dislike the direction the school is headed in.

With that said, I agree with you in that I am against the Board of Trustees and want them all gone and in jail if warranted.

I disagree with you on Paterno. They should have put him on administrative leave while this mess is sorted out, not just fire him because of media pressure and the need to have a scapegoat.

I read yesterday where the Board of Trustees has finally informed everyone that they didn't fire Joe Pa after all. They suspended him for the last four games of the season. He was allowed to retire officially at the end of the season, and just received his retirement papers after the New Year.

I read another article that, contrary to first reports, he was not fired from PSU and was in fact placed on admin leave, but has since agreed to retire which is being negotiated now.

I have a question that perhaps you have the answer: In Ben Novak’s blog, Section V, He cites an example concerning the naming of a building wherein a living “Power Group” trustee had made a very large donation for a PSU building to be named after him. Was that building a new library and was that trustee Joe Paterno? (I found it interesting that Novak provided no names, or perhaps he intended for questions to arise.)
