Sorry my post sounded condescending.

It just struck me first thing, this would be something liberals would eagerly use to block drilling, and my first reaction was to point out it’s not a big thing.

Sorry it ended up sounding like I might be calling your post insignificant. Unfortunate choice of words on my part.

:D

Mea culpa.

I doubt that fracking causes earthquakes. I see that theory as more arrogance on the part of man. "When we move water around, the very earth shakes at our feet! We are powerful!"

But, let's just suppose that for a moment that fracking does cause earthquakes. 3.0? Who cares? I suspect that we could have 3.0 earthquakes on a daily basis and suffer no ill effects. Such a small price to pay for home-grown energy.

Now, if we were being hit by a rash of 9.0 earthquakes, I might say that we need an investigation into fracking before we suffer serious loss of life. But that isn't happening.

I’m guessing from the distances this was either out in the Black Hills or Badlands.

I grew up in CA right on the faultline and don’t notice anything under 4.5.

I-90 will be closed tomorrow across South Dakota. They are hauling a 200-ton lump of coal so they can add Obama to Mount Rushmore. They couldn’t find a 200-ton piece of sh*t that would stick. Photobucket

I was at a small county fair talent show and church service in SD with my aunt and uncle and someone told a similar joke. Interestingly enough they apologized in advance to any Democrats in the audience (there was 1 btw), no apologies for what may be considered racism, but they didn’t want to offend the ONE Democrat out of about 200 people there.

Okay, I googled *hauling a 200-ton lump of coal* to find the story of the move and instead got 351K hits for “To add Obama to Mount Rushmore”.

Not really, this one is located on the southern margin of the black hills where I’d expect to see one.

How is Mt. Rushmore?

Not bad in the Spring or Fall; but the winters can be brutal and the summers VERY scorching!
