Jon Huntsman, Sr. was born in 1937 in Blackfoot, Idaho. He is the founder & Chairman of the Huntsman Corporation. He is a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and serves as an Area Seventy and as a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy. He has also served as stake president and mission president in the Washington, D.C. mission.
He is the father of former Utah governor Jon Huntsman, Jr. and the son-in-law of the late member of the quorum of the twelve apostles of the LDS Church, David B. Haight. Parley P. Pratt was great-great-grandfather of Jon Huntsman, Sr.
He is a great-grandson of Parley P. Pratt’s daughter Isabella Eleanor Marden Pratt (1854-1912). He supported 2008 presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who is his cousin.
