I have been thinking about it for awhile now ... and I have come to the conclusion that Perry stayed in to gain experience with debating for another run in 2016 where he will be the next in line.

i agree, Perry had to stay in to rehabilitate his brand. I think he was on meds for the first couple of debates and it showed. Perry leaving, looking like a fool would kill any chance for 2016. Now that he has shown he is not the idiot he looked like early on he will have a chance in 2016 or 2020.

I think he’s been running for the veep slot, but if he can’t reliably pull Texas, then that’s a problem. However, I think he could pull Texas from the bottom of the ticket.

This is not to say that I think there’s anything reliable about a poll.

Perry’s too oldish for 2016 (unless it was a re-election deal, which it’s not going to be). I was suprised at how, please excuse me, “haggish” he’s been looking on the trail. For his age, time has not been a friend.
