Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer sat down with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly and opined that Newt Gingrich won last night’s debate — in fact, he “won big.” Krauthammer criticized Mitt Romney‘s mediocre debate performance and was incredulous at how the former Massachusetts Governor wasn’t prepared for a question on his tax returns. “How could he not have prepared a nice short succinct humane answer about what he did at Bain?” Krauthammer perplexedly exclaimed. “He didn’t really have that — he kind of stumbled around.”

O’Reilly wondered why Romney was apprehensive to explain his capital gains tax policies. “I don’t know what they are afraid of, I think they are intimidated by the press,” O’Reilly observed quizzically. “I really think the press intimidates Romney and some of the others.”
“I don’t know if it’s the press,” Krauthammer replied. “But he simply doesn’t have the capacity to explain with some color and sort of force conservative ideas. He is a businessman. he, you know, he looks like he is chairing a meeting of the board….Why didn’t he say in the debate last night: Look, when the Democrats, the ones who supposedly are the ones who are the champion of the Middle Class or Working Class took control of GM and Chrysler, hundreds, thousands of people lost their jobs, dealerships were shut down, the Pontiac and other lines were shut down. You have to do it to save the company to enable it to survive and then to grow it as it is now beginning to grow and restore the jobs.”

Look at their accomplishments. Newt allied himself with Ronald Reagan to build the Reagan Coalition, the Religious Right, and the Republican majority (together the Reagan Revolution) which directly led the downfall of the Soviet Union, the Contract with America, government reforms, less government, tax cuts, a balanced budget, and the great, long-standing Reagan economy.
Romney, on the other hand, vehemently denied Ronald Reagan and aligned himself with Ted Kennedy and the left. Romney accomplished installing liberal big government programs, defended and promoted Roe v Wade and legalized abortion as “settled law,” advocated and implemented RomneyCare with its liberty killing government mandates against formerly free citizens and its taxpayer funded or subsidized and mandated abortion procedures. He ran and governed to the left of Ted Kennedy on the “gay agenda” resulting in gay marriage in Massachusetts. He appointed liberal judges and liberal appointees throughout his government. Under his “leadership” conservatism and the Republican party was all but destroyed in Massachusetts.
Romney is one evil liberal progressive. No way in hell will MittBots be allowed to support this abortionist, big government, socialist scumbag on FR!

When Romney regurgitates each conservatives last answer, O’reilly said Romney is being complimentary and presidential. I think I’ve found someone I can’t stand to listen to more than Obama. Either he isn’t watching the debates or he needs Bernie to school him on bias.

The Charles Krauthammer attack on Newt Gingrich was the beginning of the end for me and Fox News. Despite his comments on the debate and after admitting that Romney is no conservative he is still backing this loser of a candidate. His opinion on things political no longer carries any weight with me. Ditto all of the other talking heads on Fox.
