The Iranian-sponsored Hizbullah has begun its first combat operations in Syria, the opposition said.
Opposition sources said Hizbullah fighters launched Russian-origin BM-21 Grad rockets toward civilian protesters on Jan. 16. The sources said the Hizbullah rocket attack took place near Damascus amid Iranian threats to increase intervention in Syria. Other opposition sources also reported Hizbullah rocket fire.

What will Assads response be? Where were the BM-21 rockets launched from? If rocket attacks came from Lebanon, will Assad respond to them? TWB

They are acting as Assad's allies -- attacking "civilian protesters".
Presumably, Assad will responds with thanks.

Assad is their butt-boy so he's not going to do anything, but the standard in the Arabic speaking world is to take revenge against targets related in some way to the attacker ~ particularly if the victims here, "protesters", are only lightly armed.
I'd expect some really nasty attacks in the next few days against Shi'ites, and Syria has more than its fair share of various kinds.
They'll be killing men, women, children ~ blowing up mosques, burning neighborhoods.
Any Alawites will probably be trying to get out of the country ~
Watch for Obama to accept "refugees" even though they are the same kind of folk as Assad himself ~ and the very people WE SHOULD NEVER accept.

I admit that I really need a scorecard to tell the teams apart. A porcupine love fest does not have as many pricks running around as Syria does at this time.

I don’t pretend to know what is going on in the middle east, I just noted that those protesting against Assad were targeted by Hizbullah so my western mind thinks Hizbullah is siding with Assad, but I don’t know and truthfully I don’t care. I just hope we don’t send any troops there.

Depends on when Obama's friends start dying.
That might be tomorrow.
These things "spiral out of control" very rapidly in the Middle East. Their thought is that if they delay it might be too late to get even.

Assad's "people" are Alawites. He hasn't been killing any of them.
Those other people are simply available for taxation by his government.

Maybe Iran will start a course of nation building and it will bankrupt them too.

The Syrian regime is doomed.
All of them will suffer horrible deaths if they don't seek accommodation in UAE or somewhere to live in exchange for not killing and dying.
All of them.
Hizbollah is an extension of them and Iran...
