Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) ignored warnings from the Medicare actuary and the American Academy of Actuaries when they added this budget gimmick to the 2010 health law. A bipartisan Senate majority voted to strip CLASS from the law, but Democratic leaders needed CLASS premiums to offset the costs of unrelated parts of “Obamacare.”

IMHO: COMPLETELY WRONG STRATEGY. Best Strategy: Load the bill up with TONS of give-aways, rescind ALL waivers, and make the revocation retroactive - they have to pay ALL back payments, fees, etc. Have Justice Dept. lawyers suing unions, corporations, health care providers, etc. while saying how “My hands are tied by Obamacare’s rules.”
In other words, make the bill this hulking, expensive, unworkable monstrosity. Then you will have all sorts of allies for repealing it IN IT’S ENTIRETY, with the added benefit that you can tar the Dummys with the label of this monstrosity for 2 generations.
How can anyone support a party who has to lie and sneak things in to accomplish its goals? Obviously, their goals aren’t our goals.
That strategy ranks right up there with Let’s reelect Obama so the people will see just how bad the Democrats are. Then they will never elect them again.
Yeah, right! That’s the ticket!
And your strategy is to just repeal the bits that are immediately costly and leave the:
1) Bulk of the bill’s rules intact.
2) Burden of paying for all this in place, and
3) Obama friends with no/reduced payments.
