Do I vote for the apostate Mormon

He's not an apostate.

If you wouldn't vote for Obama, you wouldn't vote for Romney.

We all want "our candidate" to be perfect: it makes us feel (and look) real good. But there has only been one Perfect Man, and He's doesn't need our votes to get "elected"!

But, He did die to save us from our sins: if we assume our own "righteousness" does, we are swallowing the line of the Deceiver hook, line and sinker!

Newt's "vision for America" is right on: his view of himself is what has been pretty faulty--which it is for any human who is blind to the truth that he is fallen creature, guilty of sin, and worthy of "temporal and eternal punishment."

But Christ died precisely for this creature--it is His Righteousness that we put on--not our own.

If Newt is now professing to be a believer in Christ Jesus, I WILL hope and pray he has been given at least a glimpse of this incredible and precious truth, and also fervently pray that God keep his eyes "fixed on Jesus"--for his own sake, and for the sake of our own "one nation, under God!"

I understand your conundrum. I wish there were better options.

It does give me pause, though, to think that God gave Israel exactly what she needed (the humbling of exile) through the utterly godless Assyrians. And he called David - an adulterer and murderer - a “man after His own heart”. The time had “fully come” for the Christ to be born under the peace brought about by Caesar Augustus, who believed himself to be a god. And though Samson ended as a blind slave because he gave away his secrets for fornication, God restored his strength and brought down the pillars of the Dagon-worshiping king through Samson’s self-sacrifice. Jesus said that if His believers would not have cried out on His entry into Jerusalem, the very stones would have. And Balaam received the word of God through the speaking of an ass. The two women mentioned in the earthly genealogy of Christ had both acted as prostitutes.

It is the glory of God to use clay pots, to show that the transcendent power comes from Him alone.

All things considered, I think God can use even Newt to bring the rule of law back to this country. And that is God’s purpose for worldly government.

Sanctimony is not required as a. Basis for a vote

The decision should be based on what is best for America
