Perry Drops Out. Endorses Newt. Will Campaign and Serve.
Red State ^ | January 19th | Erick Erickson

I’m told reliably that Governor Perry will head up a 10th Amendment project for Speaker Gingrich to rally Governors and state legislators toward a plan of devolving power from Washington. This project will include helping shape the Republican platform for the general election.

Governor Perry will also campaign for Speaker Gingrich in Texas.

Not true - many of us have been on a journey of discovery - not dismemberment.

Palin - Perry - Cain - and Newt.

It’s called evaluatin’ and backing the most conservative, credentialed candidate, capable of defeating Romney and Obama.

We loved Palin - prayed for Perry - cuddled Cain and now it’s up to Newt to git ‘er done.

I’m just glad they dropped the loyalty oath and I can vote. I would have never signed such a piece of Stalinist trash.

“but, but, but......Perry is nothing but a stalking-horse for Romney.

Hopefully, this will put that idiocy to rest.....maybe.

Classy move by the guy I feel has the best plan to truly resore limited government.”

I am glad they decided to join forces, but Perry was my backup choice, so I hope the forces allied against Newt can't bring him down. Newt and Perry were the only ones that I saw with that “fire in the belly” that can keep a person going when the Obama machine gets going full force.

You don’t have to go any further than a TBBT posted article to see the bashing of Perry and Santorum as losers and claims of them being Mittens stalking horse. All totally based in irrational speculation.

I’m still waiting on Cain to endorse a fellow conservative candidate. Same with Bachmann. What’s that I hear? Oh, that’s just crickets? Perry is the only one of the 3 who has put country before self!

Hmm...
some conservatives jump on John Edwards for his behavior with his wife,...
some conservatives push Newt because he’s...smart.

Good luck with that scenario for winning a general election.

If conservatives are not happy with Romney or Santorum,..then we need to find some other conservative candidate to step in. What we have is pretty thin.

If the GOP were a football team, they’d be the Indianapolis Colts.

Unfortunately, you are correct; there have been to many nasty, childish comments by supporters and detractors of all the candidates (especially anti-Mitties) - we FReepers too often get emotional, stupid, silly, spiteful and senile.

Let’s hope Rick Perry’s example will be a guiding light for the future.

God Bless Lazlo.

What a big surprise...For those who've been sleeping for 6 months...

Governor Perry can go back to Texas, and make sure all the Texans have a compassionate heart regarding millions entering illegally while choking off our schools, jails, social services, jobs, welfare, hospitals etc...

It seems people in government just go from one position to another, many times for life...Cradle to grave...

After being in government for the past 27 years or so, and governor for the past 11 years, I'm sure all the Texans will continue to back and support Perry on his next tax paid government job.

Maybe Newt will appoint Perry ambassador to Mexican or something.

Adiós Señor Perry

I bet he had to change his underwear, also, after Patriot Perry spoke.

If the GOP were a football team right now, they’d be in the pre-expansion team mode.

Somewhere,...somehow,...a group of conservatives need to have a meeting and discuss how this mess can be turned around and find someone to step forward. I cannot believe that in a nation of 300 million people, these few men are all America has to offer.

Hammer out some basic platform planks that need to be agreed upon,..have the person of interest sign on board and get some respectability back from this multi-vehicle collision.

LAZ, you are right, some do owe Perry supporters an apology, and there was no need in being uncivil. Gov. Rick Perry is a fine, decent man, and makes Texas proud to have such as him as their Gov., he has some awesome ideas that need to go forward.

Gov. Rick Perry's day will come, he has a bright future in politics and I hope we can all get behind him when that day comes.

This is just my opinion, in respect to the RickPerry supporters. I do not NEED to hear from the anti-vile Perry haters on what I said. You will get CRICKETS, so save your energy, lest you show your immaturity.

3 CHEERS for GOV RICK PERRY on his decision and endorsement of Newt Gingrich.
