If the Republicans don’t take off the gloves and go after the Dems and the media with every knife in the drawer (including the rusty ones), then we will lose the country. This is no time for Marquis of Queensbury rules. We must fight as dirty as they do, there is no alternative. You can’t be in the position of always responding to their attacks. You must attack them. Frankly, I don’t care how it’s done as long as someone has the guts to do it.

If you read this in the context of the whole article, and his remarks about the culture and Washington morals that he is saying this facetiously. It is only a mark of character when you contrast it with the cultural moral cesspool around it.
