Newt, OTOH, can tear you limb from limb, making you smile and nod the whole time he does it.

Newt comes across as an old history professor with an alternate version of reality who is hopelessly stuck in the past. I really don't give a damn what he did in 1974. I am more interested in why today he thinks we still need a federal government healthcare plan, which 300 pages of Obamacare he plans to include in it, and how many illegals he plans on granting amnesty to. None of these are conservative positions, yet so-called 'conservatives' are supporting exactly that.

Polls seem to be all over the place right now. I do think Newt is gaining ground. RCP average has Mitt +1.2.

However, that doesn’t include the new Rueters/Ipsos poll tonite of 675 LV showing Mitt +12 over Gingrich. And if it was just head to head in SC between Mitt and Newt, they have Mitt +21 over Newt.

I know everyone selectively picks the polls they like. But this is wild with some polls showing Newt +6 to Romney +12. 18 point swing is pretty wild. Guess we will know late Saturday (unless they can;t count like in Iowa). LOL

“vote for Rick Santorum. Your conscience will remain clear.”

And your wallet will remain empty while Obama celebrates another 4 years.

Uh... well pretty much the whole thing. Shoot, even Ron Paul bitchslapped him on Abortion... and that was unexpected. Paul is against Abortion like Rick, but is NOT for Federal control of it, he believes it is a state issue and votes that way. Santorum barked up the wrong tree on that one for sure.

Best moments were here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcYF5aNwUeI&feature=youtube_gdata_player EPIC smackdown.

I like Santorum, but I don’t think he has the stones to take it to 0bama and the media. Rick is a nice guy. But it’s nice guy GOP candidates that get steamrolled by the MSM and the Democrat-Alinsky machine. I just don’t see Rick standing tough in the wake of the nastiness to come from both sides.

Newt, I think, is the right man at the right time. He is a flawed man and filled with imperfections, both personally and politically. But we need a guy who is going to get in the gutter with 0bama and the MSM and take it to them. Newt has shown he is the only guy willing to do it.

If we play nice with MSM and 0bama once again, a second Marxist term is inevitable.

I believe God put 0bama in power to wake this country up from the Godless course we have been on for a long time. He put 0bama there to drive us to the edge of the cliff. This election will decide if God lets him drive us over the cliff, or if we elect the guy to turn us around from it.

Santorum is a good Christian man. Newt is a sinner who says he was repented and found a new faith in God. But Newt also understands politics is nasty and dirty and he has a clear perspective of what is coming his way should he be the nominee. He is ready for the fight and I think he can win. Santorum, I get the feeling, thinks he can win with his strong values alone. He will get steamrolled if he thinks that.

Considering Newt got TWO standing ovations inside the first two questions. Not too shabby.... (impressed) There is already a backlash.

If Newt Gingrich’s lead holds up, it will partly be caused by a backlash against the liberal media trying to influence the outcome of the South Carolina primary. I have qualms about Newt, but if he helps stop the Romney jaggernaut, more power to him.

“I am more interested in why today he thinks we still need a federal government healthcare plan, which 300 pages of Obamacare he plans to include in it”

One thing that was in it that needs to be retained (I would rather see it retained through separate legislation) Is permitting health insurance sales across state lines... Another is disallowing insurance companies from dropping coverage if you become ill.

Both of these changes are needed and are in obamacare.

Obamacare does not permit insurance sales across state lines. The GOP legislators, to their credit, tried to get this included, but the Dems wouldn't even allow a vote on it. In any event, allowing the sale across state lines represents an example of getting the federal government the hell out of the way, which is exactly what Rick Santorum proposes. The only thing preventing interstate sales from occurring right now is federal law. We don't need a new law. We need to trash existing law.

Ron Paul is an idiot. I saw that Paul exchange.
Ron Paul sucks on the abortion issue.

Paul is right, however, that the Congress can declare that the Federal Courts have no jurisdiction over the matter. Until that happens? Deal with reality and use Congress to achieve our goals!

If Obama will not debate Newt in the 3 hour Lincoln Debate style. Newt will follow him where ever he goes and be there with 4 hours to debate Obamas speech remarks.

The White House will be NEWT'S scheduler. Can't beat that.

GO NEWT.

I was hoping to folks saw this Ex-wife for what it was - a media hit piece designed for one purpose - and that was to take out a candidate that was becoming a threat to Mitt Romney. I hope there is a backlash...

Oh, there will be a backlash, all right. As for myself, before this little ex-wife stunt, i was having reservations about having "The Other Woman" as our First Lady and her impulsive husband as our President.

But now? After watching the dems and the GOP-E try to control yet another election by pulling these types of stunts? I would crawl over broken glass to vote for him even if i knew ahead of time there would be wild orgies in the White House.

“but if he helps stop the Romney jaggernaut, more power to him. “

Also, it would be great to send the lib media a message, that the people are sick of their dirty, biased tactics.

Having said that, though, Santorum would make the best POTUS, imo.
