Yeah, two of my brothers and a sister were flooded out. Water up to the roof on both houses. One brother and wife and my sister are living in fema trailers for the moment. My other brother is living with me. His home will probably be destroyed for channel work. The other brother will begin rebuilding their home this spring, it’s already gutted and cleaned to get rid of the mold. It was an awful mess.
Remember the picture of the house I posted that was wrapped up in plastic before the flood?
Did it work?
Googled the flood .... wow. Prayers up for your family as they rebuild their lives.

I never found that house but I’d have to say no. Some businesses were saved but they hauled in and built 14 foot dikes all around the buildings.
The sad thing is that this flood could have been prevented. The Canadian and US governments mismanaged the river dams that were built for flood control. Of course, they’ll never admit fault. So now, we’ll have to waste more taxpayer money to cover for their ineptness.

Are you sure? That seems extremely low to me, but I am not in the oil industry. I am a buyer tho and deal with capital costs and variable costs for 60 hours a week. My “off the top of my head” guestimate for an oil rig would have been 10x higher than your number. Is a rig really that cheap? Now you have my curiosity gland working overtime...
No problem at all.... I was wrong in assuming it was correct. I too, have great respect for Walter Williams. My boss had emailed to me and I should have checked it out before posting. Just goes to show that just because it comes across the inter-web does not make it true. My fault for not checking out before hand. I feel I was the one that is at fault.
Friends indeed as we all want the same thing.. to remove the currect resident from “Our” White House. Glad to know it was false. I want to believe we can beat Obama and put someone who carries us forward.

I think he just wants to make sure this thing goes on for a long time...helps his ratings.
The price of gas is not going to decrease with the pipeline, it is going to increase because the crude will finally be able to make its way to the refineries, where it can be sold on the overseas market. With the Iranian situation, and the other disturbances in the M.E., that is a very good thing.
Obama does not want to help free the world of dependency on M.E. oil. It would throw a monkey wrench into his foreign policy. Think about Europe being dependent on the US for its oil. They would have no excuse for not supporting sanctions on Iran or any other M. E. country. They would have no excuse for not supporting Israel, if we told them to.
Since I cannot get behind Newt, I suspect I will not be on FR much longer. I figure I’ll get in my good byes while I still can.
