Elizabeth Smart, who was kidnapped at the age of 14 from her bedroom at knife-point and held captive for nine months, is engaged to be married.
A spokeswoman for 24-year-old Smart revealed she got engaged last week and would be getting married in the summer. Her future husband has not been officially identified, but has been reported to be a Scotsman named Matthew Gilmour.
Wedding gift registers at Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma list an entry for Elizabeth Smart and Matthew Gilmour in Utah on July 1, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

I followed the Elisabeth Smart kidnapping from start to finish and was truly astounded when she was recovered alive.
I don’t think I have ever wanted to kill someone so bad as I did her abductor!
I hope she and her love can live some sort of a normal life away from this god foresaken media!
On another note!!!
The recovery of Jaycee Duggard who was kidnapped at the age of 11 years old, and held for 18 years, giving birth to two daughters of her abductor, has me so pissed I could kill the bastard with my bare hands.
If anyone ever deserved their privacy and prayers from us all, these two special ladies do.
May god bless them and protect them forever!
I’m so happy for her...true life is about to finally begin...with love and happiness. She is one strong young lady. God is good.
If I were Ed Smart I’d be thinking “What the hell was I thinking bringing home a bum to scope out my house and my 14-year old daughter?’’.
Just my opinion, but she’s too young, especially with all of her baggage.
