John Bolton: Let’s face it, Romney’s the conservative who can beat Obama

Et tu, ‘Stache?

With America’s future at stake in November, I decided to support Mitt Romney for three reasons: his Reaganaut philosophy, executive experience and general-election campaign strengths…

Mr. Obama’s manifold failings underscore the final issue: electability. Competitors and politicos are already endlessly analyzing this question, so I’ll make only three brief points.

First, there is an infinitesimally small chance that Mr. Romney will self-destruct in September or October. “No-drama Obama,” meet your match. Second, Mr. Romney has the overwhelming lead in endorsements from Republican senators and representatives—the most aware, self-interested community, bar none, regarding our nominee’s electability. No propensity there to grandiosity or suicide. Third, Mr. Romney shares one of Reagan’s most important and attractive characteristics: being critical without being angry or scornful.

The late Bill Buckley bequeathed us the right test: Pick the most conservative candidate capable of winning. That is clearly Mitt Romney.

Bolton would never win as a Presidential candidate. Too bad... Since he’s so awesome. I would love to see him as SecState, though.

To the current population, that word has too many definitions.

It just doesn’t seem logical for the Highest Office of the country to be given to a man who actually believes in a Prophet Joseph Smith, who supposedly saw gold plates that he under great inspiration could translate. No one ever saw these plates but 8 people, from the same family. Moroni the angel never let us compare these manuscripts and it’s authenticity, and that the candidate would descend from this prophet with 29 wives, and that the grandfather would prefer living in Mexico so he could practice polygamy. THIS is not an American tradition. He hasn’t distanced himself from this...now has he John Bolton. Suck it up, we don’t want anyone delusional in the highest office of authority of the land.

Romney can't get more than 25% of republican voters. I know he will NEVER get mine. I'm sure he promised Bolton Secretary of defense or something tempting.

Bolton starts off with a lie. By no stretch of the imagination is Romney a Conservative.

Romney probably promised him SOS is what I’ve been thinking.

FWIW I’ve been saying for awhile now that Romney has made the promises, money has exchanged hands, he has bought, and paid for this nomination, and the GOP RINO leadership is going to make sure he gets it one way or the other.

It’ll be interesting to see what they do to eliminate Newt.

The GOP RINO leadership is going to pull every dirty trick in the book (It’ll look like Democrats at work) to get Romney as their nominee.

Newt’s fighting not only Romney, but the RINO GOP leadership, the DemoRATS, and the FR single issue “Conservatives” as well.

Well, I don’t think Mitt has that wide of an appeal.

So if we go down (I do agree we probably will) why not go down swinging...instead of a McCain redux.

Romney is a conservative of the Uber Faux variety and is the least likely Republican to be able to beat the kenyan.

After reading your comments over and over again. From whence do you get the idea I support Romney ... catch my tag line. My comment was about Bolton.

Please justify your rampage and its association with my comment. I would love to hear your response.

“It’ll be interesting to see what they do to eliminate Newt”.

IMHO, I think this election is going to be the dirtiest, nastiest, most vile one in our history. That is just my gut feeling. There won’t be anything above consideration either. I hope I am wrong.

You may be right. America may have moved too far to the leftist side to accept a true conservative (with or without baggage). However, I would much rather have a person whom I believe has conservative politics like Newt to run, then have mr. Waffly run as a “conservative” that we know he isn’t.

If Mitt wins the GOP primary, I will NOT vote for him for president. I will write in Palin’s name or something, but I am DONE voting for pretend conservatives. If that means Obama is what the majority of voters want, then America is dead to me and let the wars begin.

That's because the Cloward-Piven crowd is literally only one national election away from bringing to fruition their decades-long ambition -- total collapse of our currency, economy, and society.
