UW-Madison begins issuing free voter ID cards
Wisconsin State Journal ^ | 1-20-12

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is set to begin issuing free school identification cards to comply with a new state voter ID law.

The university says students can pick up an ID Monday on campus. It pledged last year to offer the cards since the law has a two-year expiration for school IDs that make older IDs invalid.

Colleges and universities across the state have debated how to comply with the law, which passed last year. Several UW campuses are taking a similar approach to Madison's policy.

The university also launched a website Friday designed to help students on any voting questions, including whether to bring a school verification letter to the polls. The ID cards are estimated to cost the school $100,000 over five years.

I thought it was already SOP on campuses across the country.

Wisconsin Student Voter ID Ping

If you want to be on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list, just FReep Mail me.

It’s about time the University co-operates on this law. I know the aticle says that they claimed that they would co-operate last year, but they have fought this voter ID tooth and nail all along.

Another case of public money being used for political purposes.

Wisconsin has fought this student ID and voter ID all along. What this article does not say is whether procedures will be put in place to keep those kids from voting on campus and at home too. They try it all the time. And, does the university have birth records (official certificates) on file fore everyone? You’d think, but I wouldn’t put anything past them.

The student ID will enable students to vote twice: once at the on-campus poll using student ID, and again at their off-campus residence using drivers license. And possibly a third time absentee at their parents location.

Madison? Isn’t that the place where the occupiers were masturbating in public?

“Let’s beat the bushes to get out the vote for the Democrats this fall!”

“Here at the UW Poultry Department, we’re ready to choke a chicken to get the vote out for the Democrats this fall!”

“The UW Zoology Department will make the cobra spit to help sign up Democrat voters this year!”

That’s what I’m afraid of. We MUST get rid of at-the-polls registratiion in this state. Unfortunately, If you saw a fuss kicked up when Walker got rid of state and school district collected union dues, there will be all out war if the register-at-the-polls-on-election-day benefit is removed!

That’s okay, Walker has a way of coming through these political hissy fits thrown by the left.

Certainly there will be several registration desks for those “students” who don’t speak a word of English...
