Blaming the 'other woman' is sexist. It is the MARRIED person in an adulterous affair that is guilty.
You are aware that Marianne was dating a ‘married’ man when she met Newt? Right?
Newt isn’t a saint,but she’s not an ‘innocent’ either.
Funny stuff. Great column. Thanks for posting it.
Why don't you do some basic research before writing an article? (not you Kaslin)
Do you not think a person having an affair with a married person is more guilty than a person having an affair with an unmarried person?
Okay. Relieved to see that that is not your personal code.
I’m sorry to have come off so snarky. I guess I have seen too many posts recently on FR that portray a disdain for respectable behavior.
Yeah, he should have, or at least read Newt’s daughter’s column from last May where she set the record straight
Women who get mad at the 'other woman' should look at the hubby who did the cheating instead. And a man who wants to attack the other man should focus instead on his own cheating wife.
Read my post No. 49. “they if told” should read, “if they told”
Jackie Gingrich would be very suprised to find out she’s dead.
OK, I see it. I recall having an intense discussion with two young Christian women on the subject of homosexuality. My question for them was does a married pastor having an affair with a parishioner or a single homosexual man having and affair with another single man commit the greater sin. They both gushed the homosexual. Then I rattled on about the married priest...the harm caused to his wife and children, his parish is greater than two men who do not harm anyone else? That got them to thinking. I suspect we all need to discuss these things from time to time. It sure opens our eyes.
well I am flawed and fallen but since I started living deliberately at about age 31, I haven’t done the stuff he has.
I haven’t either. But my sin is just as abhorrent to God as newts is. All our righteousness is as filthy rags. Lets not fall inti the trap of thinking our sins are less repulsive to God than the next persons. If we have repented and sought forgiveness, we all stand equally under grace
This thread should be yanked

Since newspapers are disappearing, it is getting hard to find out if you are dead or not.
Article plays loose with the Bible in ways I don’t care to see. Sorry, no sell for me.
>> Flame away - I couldn’t care less.
Apparently you do; otherwise, you wouldn’t have wasted your precious time lecturing us.
yeah but I am not running for President with my adultery partner as potential first lady
There are no “degrees” of sin, is my understanding anyway. A married man involved in an affair and the homosexual are equal sinners in God’s eyes. Jesus himself said merely lusting after a woman in a man’s heart is equal to an actual act of adultry. His point was we are all guilty.
I don’t approve of what Newt has done in the past; he claims to have sought and received God’s forgiveness. Therefore we must forgive him, since only God can know his heart.
We must defeat Obama, the liberal establishment, and the media.
So far only Newt has shown the courage and the wisdom to do so, and he is doing it knowing his past mistakes will be discussed endlessly.
We need that courage right now. Without Newt, we cease to be a Republic.
This is not time for judgementalism.
