OK, I see it. I recall having an intense discussion with two young Christian women on the subject of homosexuality. My question for them was does a married pastor having an affair with a parishioner or a single homosexual man having and affair with another single man commit the greater sin. They both gushed the homosexual. Then I rattled on about the married priest...the harm caused to his wife and children, his parish is greater than two men who do not harm anyone else? That got them to thinking. I suspect we all need to discuss these things from time to time. It sure opens our eyes.
There are no “degrees” of sin, is my understanding anyway. A married man involved in an affair and the homosexual are equal sinners in God’s eyes. Jesus himself said merely lusting after a woman in a man’s heart is equal to an actual act of adultry. His point was we are all guilty.
I don’t approve of what Newt has done in the past; he claims to have sought and received God’s forgiveness. Therefore we must forgive him, since only God can know his heart.
We must defeat Obama, the liberal establishment, and the media.
So far only Newt has shown the courage and the wisdom to do so, and he is doing it knowing his past mistakes will be discussed endlessly.
We need that courage right now. Without Newt, we cease to be a Republic.
This is not time for judgementalism.
